eh beat em up open world adventure game
the pikmin style army management is the pvp and a few moments during the story.
its an solid good game, heavily relies on heavy metal world and jack black
if your annoyed by either your not gonna have a good time

I'm 25. My point was that I've seen other derivative, mediocre games essentially get passed over by normalfags (e.g. that Mad Max game), yet someone gave something on the same level GotY? I can only imagine there just wasn't a whole lot of competition that year, or maybe it was given by some small gaming press site or whatever.

Only the shitty ones. If you see someone doing a "review" and they're clearly playing some kind of character to the point where half the video is focused on them, then it's garbage. The absolute only pass I'll give is to AVGN, but he hasn't been hitting his stride like he used to.

Dragon Age: Origins. I used to be a huge fan of Bioware but that was the last game of theirs I bought.

Again, you're giving even a small amount of credence to this industry, and that's where you're fucking up. And for reference, the "GOTY" moniker doesn't actually have to come from a publication; any game can have a GOTY version for no real reason. The label has been losing favor in recent years, thankfully, but it was pretty fucking crazy during the late previous generation / early current generation.

The game is meant to be about going fast yet every time I do a melee attack or i'm on low health (points in the game where it should very frantic and exciting ) it slows to a crawl either waiting for my boost to recharge or crawling into cover during the forced bullet time. I also wish I could cancel the slow mo when firing while boosting, with a mouse I can aim just fine without the slow mo. Not even a worthless game by any means I was just so disappointed I couldn't get any fun out of it.

Because there's only so many jokes you can make in a comedy review. How many family based animated sitcoms have retread ground The Simpsons covered? Now multiply that by 1000 and you have an idea if how many jagoffs are all making the same exact game reviews.

W101 is the epitome of everything I hate about modern action games. Despite being intended for multiple playthroughs, they cram a bunch of dumb shit to "break up the action" that you always dread on repeat runs. If you're going to make a game meant to be played more than once, design it so that the player actually wants to. If a game is consistently fun, that alone is enough to get someone to replay it, even without a progression system.
