Unbelievably good game but Zig Forums is full of retard zoomers and you're probably better discussing it on a slower board like /vr/ or /vrpg/

Thanks for the tip user. I appreciate it.

The fact that it's never been re-released or ported ever. God fucking dammit.
Is it worth getting one of those retro emulator handhelds just to play all these games that have otherwise been forgotten by the IP holders?

I didn't play this game therefore it's shit

Do you not have a computer?
You can also get emulators on your phone.
Just need a basic blutooth controller.

I was playing it a while back but had to rely on touch controls. Think I just got done smacking a bird boss around on a mountain or something? Felt really early still. It was okay.

It never came to the states
If it had it would probably be regarded as a classic though and Zig Forums would shit on it because popular/well liked game bad, so maybe it's for the best

I actually emulated it on DS years ago but there were too many issues with running it that got in the way of enjoying it.
I just want to play it on a handheld without it running like shit.

That slide attack it is too strong and overshadow everything.
That's it.

>get introduced to emulators in the early 2000s
>some Harvest Moon website I liked back then was an affiliate to a place called TerraEarth
>covers the Terranigma/Soul Blazer/Illusion of Gaia trilogy
>download all three and start with Terranigma
>hear youtu.be/vkYQQwepoc4
>mfw

It was bittersweet being able to play games I had to miss out on growing up because while I did own and like my Genesis I always found the SNES to be superior.

The combat doesnt progress beyond the towers

not trying to shill but I have an affinity for these handheld emulators and would reccomend the RG350. If you're new to the hh emulator scene, there's plenty of fourm supoort. boards.dingoonity.org/retro-game-350rg-350/

Fun game but Illusion of Gaia was the better and more memorable game overall.

One of my favorites games. The endgame is kind of slow tho.

Love this game but here are the flaws.

not enough variety with Equipment/Spells/Weapons. Would be nice to have 5 weapons to choose from in each new area instead of just choose the newest one available you could choose something that has an element attached to it.

There aren't enough towns that progress the main storyline and it gets confusing with where you need to go after you get to the new continent. I spent an hour just talking to everybody in every town before finding out what I needed to do. It is also kind of cryptic with how to advance some of the towns. The air plane is a useless gimmick only needed to access the final area. Would be cool to have some hidden areas or more benefit to using the plane.

Basically it's a 10/10 game with no flaws right up until you resurrect mankind and then it gets a little bit flawed but still amazing.

Best place to discuss it is the /vr/ discord by the way

>Waaaah I need to zoom zoom, where is my map and arrow, I just want to follow green line to next objective and push button for reward.

GET FUCKED. You should HAVE to explore and talk to people to figure out what to do next. You shouldn’t just be following a line like new zoomer games. This is literally the thing that has killed video games and you’re saying it’s a flaw in an unironically 10/10 game. Go fuck yourself zoomer.

>forevorially deletized inside square enix's vault
>bugs that stop content from being accessed
>developers vanished

I have been playing games since the 80's and my biggest fucking complaint in any game is unnecessary dialogue. Anytime in a fucking RPG when a NPC has a useless statement it pisses me off.

Wandering around town, decide to talk to somebody. "I like the lady in the red house, she is really cute. How should I get her to notice me?" and then I spend the next ten minutes trying to figure out if I need to help this idiot out and 9 times out of 10 I don't and it's just useless text. I would rather the text actually mean something and be a possible second path to advancing the story instead of finding the super special person to talk to and they give you a vague statement and that is the statement you need to activate another NPC saying a different statement than they did the last ten times you talked to them.

Today I will remind them
Of the horrors that is fighting the Bloody Mary boss while being underleveled and underequipped

Wasn't popular enough to garner sequels or spiritual successors at the time and forge the genre into something better,

I had to go power up to be able to beat her. After that all the other bosses where piss easy cause i was this overpowerd now. Thats a flaw.

Shallow, repetitive combat

This bitch

Magic system is garbage.

sell me on this game
i cant go back to the same old four heads in a row snes bullshit games anymore

I always cheat when fighting Bloodymary when replaying this game.

The largest flaws are pacing issues in the mid to second half and the game could use another year to flesh it out.

This game probably has the best high concept in any game ever (resurrecting Earth, from the evolution of life to the present day).

The game was the word "nig" in the name. That's problematic.

It's an action rpg with unique themes, good story considered one of the best games on the system.

Seth is that you?

Why hasn't any other game taken this exact storyline and given it a modern polish?

The storyline is pretty awesome with the main bad guy wanting to live forever.

Give me an invite.

Beruga is not the main bad guy.

the only thing i can think of is that the magicrystals aren't properly explained, even if it is silly in retrospect to think that they would be consumed permanently and level scaling is pretty fucked. Nothing else besides that, it's one of my favorite games ever and I really should get around to replaying it

I don't know if this is true since I never used the magic alot, but you can supposedly re buy the magic items after use since the magirocks just returned to your inventory after use

It's practically Lost Media. It hasn't even been re-released on the virtual console, and hasn't been acknowledged by Sqaure Enix.

I think Nintendo should rip-off Terranigma using the BOTW engine.

It keeps thinking my link is spam and won't post. Not sure what to do here.
