Real talk, drop slugger, Alatreon highly resists stun and you'll get only a single extra KO probably on a 20 minute fight. Then, get an ice weapon and max out ice attack if you're going to be doing the special assignment Alatreon since he always starts in fire mode. Keep Evade window, his attacks are very tight and being able to roll through them is great. Try to get as much critical eye and weakness exploit as you can. Even without wounding, his head and arms are weak points. Attack the arms in fire mode, attack the head in dragon mode. If you don't get the horn break before the escaton judgement, just abandon and try again. It only has 3000 HP I believe.

It sold very poorly and the gacha they released that used its setting and art style was so bad it was never released outside Japan and never got any major updates. I think it’s safe to say that Stories 2 will never happen unless it’s the dream project of someone very high up at Capcom or some shit like that.

It's a home console plain and simple. It's the WiiU 1.5, not a successor to the 3DS.
And with it it inherited console games, not portable ones. The portable market simply died and these last two platforms were their attempt to salvage what was left of it to their low cost home console.
I get that it's big in Japan but at this point making the new entry exclusive again would be a massive mistake mostly defended by platform fanboys in the west.
