After you do that you will randomly get distorted images of a snake-like Alice filling the screen along with various sound cues. These are random and persist for the rest of the cycle.

yeah, and while the gameplay and story as a whole are good. the DEEPEST LORE the game supposedly has isn't there. A lot of it is just speculation from what we are told from unreliable sources. Still a fucking banger of a game series though.
