Look, I'm an artist for a living. Critique is part o my daily life, and 99.9% of it is coming from people who are not artists and who have no fucking clue what I do. But they're paying for the work, so they get to provide feedback on whether or not it is what they want. And my job isn't to say "Fuck you, I'm doing it my way and you can suck my dick if you don't like it", because then I wouldn't have any clients.
I absolutely can say that, and do things my way and ignore all feedback from everyone except maybe other artists who are better than me, but then I'd have to accept that I'm not in the business of making art for people who want to pay for it, I'm in the business of making art for myself and no one else.

There are lots of games that I would like it if they existed, but obviously not so much that I am going to leave my current life, pursue a decades-long career in game design, build a portfolio of delivered successful games years and years later so I can secure funding to hire a team to make an ambitious project to produce a game that I think should exist.
