I miss those times

That's me but with Munchlax in DP taking a month to appear. Sucks that I didn't have the GBA games.

I played red at 3 yearsrs old and thought i was making money because the save eound effect was the same as selling something so i never made any progress

>KANTOOOOOOOOO

It is safe to say if no one has memories of playing through red & blue it is because they're zoomers who bonded with inferior entries

By the time DP came out, I already outgrow Pokemon until I recently started playing Let's go Pikachu.

First pokemon game I played was pokemon gold and I remember that when I found a metapod I thought it was a rare ghost pokemon.

based and truthpilled

My first time playing I couldn’t leave the house because I thought the door was just a rug

>taking 3 hours to catch a Metapod in Viridian Forest

That doesn't sound very fun.

lmao, unironically filtered

what the fuck was his problem?

I watched my brothers get stuck in pallet town because they didn't know they had to walk into the grass. Literally took them 2 hours to figure it out

his own grandfather didnt remember his name, then he lets a stranger choose it for him. Blue was never loved

how did you watch them for two hours without being a navi the fairy

I miss the days of gyms actually being hard roadblocks because I was a retard kid who didn;t understand type match ups.

>tfw getting through rock tunnel without HM Flash felt like a big achievement to young me.

idk why I ever did that, wtf is wrong with us

We were young and out the house, wasn't anything else to do but watch my brother play pokemon

when you run into a picathu in Viridian Forest for the first time

the red pill is realizing pikachu is a literal who

>he didnt grind Squirtle to Blastoise before in virdian forest before challenging Brock.

I hear this every now and then and can't fathom how people could be so retarded, but then I think to my first time playing Banjo Kazooie, where I was stuck in Mumbo's Mountain for a week because I couldn't figure out how to get out.

I did that so much I still remember how to get through blind to this day.

My first ever vidya was Pocket Bomberman for GBC and then my parents bought me Yellow Version. I got filtered before Btock and didn't beat it for a couple of years (I was 6 or 7 when I got Yellow. My uncle got me Red version around the same time as I got Yellow and it's been my favorite game ever since. I still play through it multiple times a year. The nostalga it brings up. I would get all my friends through Rock Tunnel without flash to save time because for some reason nobody else I knew could do it. The late 90's weren't great, but they were a blast compared to this hellhole of a decade.

How is Let's Go? The genwunner in me wants to try it

He was popular, rude, smug asshole. Women loved him. He always had more Pokemon than possible at the point in the game you encountered him, EVERY TIME. He was designed to be a frustrating, unlikeable rival, and it worked. He wasn't a murderer, he didn't have to have some lame expected dramatic plot twist where you are friends and he betrays you. You knew he was your rival. Just simple rivalry.

I fucking miss Kanto so much. Why are the new games so soulless.

Pokemania was crazy. So many kids at school were into Pokemon. Recess was nothing but trading, battling, etc. and I remember the staircase leading to the school library was the hangout spot for the best players (kind of like the elite four). I remember holding onto my step for a while one week.

Fun, but not exempt from game freaks bullshit. For example, the starter mechanic makes you feel like you have a real anime like starter with you, but they tied it to HM moves so you can never take the Pikachu/Eevee to any other game since it will literally break without it.

As a 90s nostalgia fag, I'd say its just okay, but don't come in expecting anything great. It still has those shitty Pokemon Go mechanics. The graphics are nice to look at.

I remember trying to make friends with people who had Link Cables since my parents were too cheap to get me one.
