Being quite honest, and coming from someone who primarily uses PC, the current gaming industry needs to dial down quite a bit.
Current hardware still struggles with 4K, and while graphics are more and more beautiful, the quality of the games themselves is decreasing.
I'd completely support the idea of completely stagnating graphics-wise for an entire generation, if it meant that a lot of that cash would be aimed towards other departments.

The focus on 4K this gen is fucking baffling. You can't tell when you're sitting on a couch like you would be while console gaming anyways, the game could be 1080p and you would never know the difference. It's not like the Switch where you're holding a large screen in your hands and the current resolution of the title you're playing is incredibly apparent.
