It's cheaper for me personally not to upgrade my current build for an Xbox this time around.
To correctly run the 3080 upgrading from my 1060 and i7 I would need a new processor and motherboard which puts me in the $1000+ range all together with the GPU pricing for something the xbox will do at 2060 card.
If you got a pc that could run the current gen into next generation games then I wouldn't recommend it and go with the ps5.

It's really about preference and so far the Xbox is better for my preference

The Series S is the only other valuable option as there aren't any other competing products in that price range for what it provides. At 1440p for $299, most normies will naturally buy the Series S since they wont care as much about a weaker GPU, smaller SSD space, and wont mind going all digital in the age of streaming service platforms.
