I don't understand why everyone thinks VLR is so great and gives it a pass for the COMPLETE AND UTTER NON-ENDING, holy shit it was awful. Rorschach tests are pseudoscientific meme that gets used a lot in screenplays, because its more visual than just talking, but has no real merit.
The idea was that, because humans naturally look for patterns, then: by presenting visual noise to a patient, the unconscious mind will visualize its anxieties in the random shapes, and give more context/insight to the person administering the exam.

The point of rorschach isn't WHAT the patient perceives, but how they come to the conclusion on what it is they perceive. Two people with the same mental issue may see two different objects in the same picture, but will likely see the object by using similar logic.
