Back in 2006, $600 was ridiculous. But that was 2006. In 2020, if you cant get $600, you don't have a job. Even McDonalds can get you $600 if you save for about 3 or 4 paychecks (and I'm being generous with that). Why CAN'T the PS5 cost $600 which is likely still at a loss considering the technology? I don't think Sony will go bankrupt, but do we really want basically 1 company to run the whole game industry? Think about that for a second. Why would I pay $300 more for a weaker console? The Series S already let's me play all third party games (the only ones that anyone actually gives a fuck about). If the value offered for the PS5 is a $1,000 they COULD do it and offer some type of financing plan like for the smartphones. If they priced it at $600, it effectively a steal for all of the value you're getting out of it.
