Back in 2006, $600 was ridiculous. But that was 2006. In 2020, if you cant get $600, you don't have a job. Even McDonalds can get you $600 if you save for about 3 or 4 paychecks (and I'm being generous with that). Why CAN'T the PS5 cost $600 which is likely still at a loss considering the technology? I don't think Sony will go bankrupt, but do we really want basically 1 company to run the whole game industry? Think about that for a second. One company wants to turn video games into a service while the other one values you as a player and your ownership. Choose wisely.
$600 is NOT that bad
I am still preordering a Playstation 5!

The price back in 2006 was actually $500.

Imagine paying more for a less powerful console.

Exactly! Now $499 is "cheap" but $100 more is "way too expensive"? It sounds stupid because it is.
Based. Fuck the poorfags and NEETs. They're worthless scum.
Why would I pay $300 more for a weaker console? The Series S already let's me play all third party games (the only ones that anyone actually gives a fuck about). For the "privilege" of playing a few over the shoulder, cinematic "games"? I can already get most of my weeb games on the switch. Sony consoles are just irrelevant to me now.
Microsoft might have made a mistake pricing it that low. People walking in the store might think it's not as good as the more premium priced PS5. If I didn't know any better that thought would have crossed my mind, honestly.
Except the Series X exists, and will probably also turn out cheaper than the PS5.
>ps5 is lower priced than xbox series x
>snoy fans: this is a good thing

My neetbux might not cover this.
this.
it's cheap enough to have ACTUAL GAMES
So basically PS5 should cost $1000 and market itself as "premium" without actually saying what that means.
>One company wants to turn video games into a service while the other one values you as a player and your ownership.
Where are you getting this from?
Fuck it, I'll get one like 6 months after launch, I'll just focus on the RTX 3080 for now and buy myself a 4K TV.
We don't know that for sure, but still. People will still think there is something wrong with the Series S for it to be that cheap. It's great for marketing, but perception is king.
Why would you pay $600 to have Sony tell you that your games can't have cute girls in them because it's offensive?
Because I have my uwu cute girls on my PC, and my spider-man and 3rd person games on Palaystahshun
>600 for a censorstation with pozzed movie games
I just dont get how people put up with this, you can get so much more with pc.
If the value offered for the PS5 is a $1,000 they COULD do it and offer some type of financing plan like for the smartphones. If they priced it at $600, it effectively a steal for all of the value you're getting out of it.

>Exclusive games

>PSNow and the PS Ecosystem
>High quality accessories
You're looking at a $700 to $800 value all things considered.
America is not the only country in the world.
600 dollars may not be a lot in america, but for some countries the difference in their currency from 300 to 600 is a lot.
For example:
In Brazil the diference would be from 1500 brl to 3000 brl.
The first one is one and a half monthly minimum wage and the second is three times the minimum wage.
steamies and xboxfags want the ps5 to fail so baldy lol
consoles are a relic of the past
the only console that isn't easily replaced by a pc is the switch because of nintendo's in house exclusives and franchizes and their
This part is kind of fun regardless of what side you are on. Microsoft made a big move, now Sony had to respond.
They aren't if your cash flow is lower.
To get same peformance as a console right now it'd cost more than what a consoles costs, some people are shit with money.
I knew a guy who bought RAM and a motherboard but didn't get a graphics card or a CPU for like a year, because he'd waste money on frivolous shit.
then why are they only growing in popularity relative to pc gaming?
you can easily build a $600 PC that runs all games, this has been true the last 2 console generations
hype around exclusives, expensive ads & idiots
but many japanese companies have been releasing their console exclusive games on steam eliminating the last reason to buy a sony/ms console
technology is improving, retard casuals that buy it for the next iteration of handegg will see an alternative in stadia or its successors should google ever come up with a good pricing model
Not at 4k 60FPS, like the consoles.
60fps isn't really anything to be proud of
>20 GB hard drive
But 4k, 30 fps, on newer titles like your hypothetical $600 PC is?
