A whole new generation of gamers will get to experience this.
And the seething will be glorious

Now I want to replay Sunshine.

>Thousands of Zoomers will now scream about chucksters

Oh baby

>formerly sneedsters

I didn't kow SotC got a Switch port.

Do we know if Nintendo are planning to change any of these games, or introduce some cut content into them?
Or are they literally just one to one ports of the original games?
If so, I really do think it'll be fun seeing the seething about certain parts of Sunshine and 64. 64 for being pretty unclear about where you need to go or what you need to do in many levels, and Sunshine for having the challenging parts like this and the lily pads.
It'll be grand.
And Sunshine is my favourite 3d Mario, GC for life.

kek

this isn't really hard. it's just long and fucking boring, and i dread fucking up since i have to ride the whole thing again.
i'm assuming that they're slightly modified ports with nothing extra added on.
maybe some cleaned up textures and effects, but aside from that and higher resolutions, i think it'll be the same.

Fair enough.
I don't own a switch so no interest in it anyway. Plus I still have my gamecube and N64, so I can play the originals whenever.
Unsure why exactly people are so excited for literal reissues without any additional content or changes, but I guess for people who never played the games or don't own the consoles anymore it's good.
And yes - I never found the sand bird that hard but later parts of the game certainly are. Plus I remember one of my friends would invite me over to his house all the time just to complete sunshine levels that he was struggling on. Was pretty fun, and it's a lot harder than people who can actually play games realise. A lot harder than galaxy, by a long shot.

Sunshine is easily the worst 3D Mario. If they wanted to re-release it they should have built an enhanced port and added in Luigi, new levels in place of Blue Coin hunting and ironed out all the retarded bullshit in the Gamecube version. But of course Nintendo's higher-ups are pennypinching fags who just want to make quick money like they have been since the Wii era.

Pinball was far worse.

I dunno how anyone can seriously prefer Galaxy over Sunshine. Both are great games, but Galaxy is a prime example of style over substance - the game doesn't challenge you once, and the exploration that was such a huge theme in the earlier 3d marios is completely thrown away in favour of very straight dorward linear levels which feel straight out of a 2d mario game. The gravity physics are fun, but they really aren't explored to their full potential and you're never really forced to use them in the way sunshine both forces and encourages you to use fludd.
Sunshine is superior to Galaxy, without a doubt.

>pinball

>added in Luigi
literally why. autist

Lolno, they're just going to watch their favorite eceleb do it and make the same complaints he does.

Do people struggle that much with the sandbird?
It feels kind of jank. Or perhaps even very jank. I'll give you that.
But in spite of the surprising physics and odd behaviours, I wouldn't call the sandbird that difficult. 3~ tries or less should do it, no?

It's not like it's which is some real random bullshit that can either be a piece of cake of a first try or a never ever of 20+ tries.

>nu-nintendo
>effort
LOL. in a perfect world it would've been Mario Sunshine DX with 1 or 2 of the cut levels with new lighting.

>new levels in place of Blue Coin hunting and ironed out all the retarded bullshit in the Gamecube version
Fuck you. I want Sunshine on the Switch. If you got it your way I still wouldn't be able to get Sunshine on the Switch.

Dude sand bird is not difficult, get over yourselves

i dunno for me its either 64 or Sunshine, Galaxy is just good. I liked Odyssey a lot more than Galaxy, too.

Watching playthroughs count as "gaming" now?

yes and the same people who think that, browse here and act like their opinion is the word of god.

so companies are pandering to people who don't even buy games now ?

Mate I told you I don't even own a switch, last Ninty console I owned was a Wii so I don't know how they are now.
A Sunshine remaster would be great though.
Are there known cut levels? That'd be fun to look into.

Yeah I agree, I'm pretty undecided on whether I prefer 64 or Sunshine. I do think Galaxy could've been the best of the bunch if it had introduced the new mechanics while maintaining the same levels of exploration and openness in each level instead of trying to make tons of different levels which are mostly straight lines and are all similar to 3 or 4 other levels.
Never got to play Odyssey so I can't comment on that, unfortunately.

That's obviously Minecraft retard

A whole new generation beating this stage with drifting

I bet they'll fix the physics so it's playable. I don't know how they fucked up this level so hard. Is it literally meant to be random?

what got me was the goddamn hotel level

yeah theres a couple of cut levels in the code, and a train station to move through areas instead of the goop on the walls.

>he thinks they will change shit

I hear so many people saying this level is some random bullshit but I honestly never found it that difficult. Mario gets a bit stuck if he touches walls, so keep him away from the walls. use the hovering Fludd to guide yourself but not too much or you'll overshoot. it takes a few goes round the board, but avoiding the instant death is doable on command without fail, so there's no problem.
I can't believe people complain about this more than the lily pad special stage or the piloting that boat through corona mountains lava part. Or did these people never GET to those parts of the game?

Do the cut levels look any good?
The levels in Sunshine always seemed incredible to me, and extra details like Sirena Beach giving you a whole hotel to explore, or Noki Bay having the whole undersea city section just for one boss fight, or Petey making the whole level his boss arena made Sunshine the best game for me. Incredible sections which made the levels feel like more than just set pieces for jumps and running.
I'll check out what those levels look like tonight. Cheers.

>use the hovering Fludd to guide yourself
I mean you should try. But it only works to an extent.
The launcher sends you flying towards a random direction with a random force. And depending on the force you'll just be pushing against it for a standstill. Or in the more ridiculous cases, be pushed backwards in spite of attempting to push forward.
The times you actually have any semblance of control is when you're lucky. And yet a single failure is enough to force you to restart. So it can be pretty damn bullshit.

So it sends you in a random way at the first instance, after which you have to manage your path taking that first push into consideration.
Most importantly, no matter how random it may be for you to hit a single red coin, it is always possible to make sure you avoid death. And the level is supposed to be a pachinko machine, which comes with its own degree of randomness. Why wouldn't it function in exactly the way you describe?

for me?
heh... do you even have to ask?
it's galaxy 2, baby!

>Why wouldn't it function in exactly the way you describe?
I never said it shouldn't. But pachinko is bullshit by design and this is too. Which makes it bullshit, and is frustrating.

I'm getting extremely fucking tired of this sand bird being hard horse shit. It was piss easy then and it's still piss easy. It was NEVER hard. I can't believe this level is so universally accepted as being hard by literally everybody. I just can't fucking fathom it. How can SO MANY PEOPLE be so fucking SHIT at Sunshine? Find another hobby dude, if you struggled in this level, you don't deserve to touch a video game, I'm sick and tired of this gay ass meme.

Inb4 they implement checkpoints everywhere or some mode where the game plays itself, infinite water or you get to buy shine sprites

What's so hard about the sandbird? You get the hover nozzle. Sure, the flip might feel like it comes out of no where but that's one life you lose. The real bullshit is pachinko and not because it's hard, but because the physics work differently than you'd expect them to

it's more so because it's long and shit.
people tense up and fuck up on accident, then they have to redo the whole thing, and waiting for this shit isn't particularly enjoyable.
i'd rather it be fast and more difficult, as it'd be a hell of a lot more bearable.

they got scrubbed actually, nintendo likes to do that
