It's an indie game

>it's an indie game
>it's an allegory for depression/suicide/anxiety

Why is this so common?

Indie games are inherently leftwing, and leftists blame theur lack of success on fake illnesses.

Cause indie game makers are suicidal.

because that's the only topic they can come up with

Are you a Zig Forumstard or just plain retarded?

Mental illness is a prerequisite for creating art.

You write about what you know.
Or it's easy artsy fartsy bullshit you can pretend to be deep with.

Trannies

Who says he can't be both?

Indies are only indies because publishers realize they are stupid little games 99% of the time. Therefore, leftists latch on to any indie game that's a success because it makes them believe that capitalism is crumbling.
Dilate.

Because in my opinion what drives primary creation are your personal experiences
I doubt people who create pixel indie games are chads in real life and thus those nerds use their feelings to drive their creation spirit
It could also be used to create a "deeper" game, as in "wow this game is not only a pixel retro plateformer, it deals with suicide or some bullshit!"

its common in all forms of art you idiot

Because everyone wants to fucking kill themselves.

When was the last time you were actually happy user?

Because your a tranny

good taste

It's a memory bias. There's a million generic indie games that you don't think about and don't actively bother to remember, like all the crappy rpg maker games, or shitty pixel platformers, or uninspired block puzzles. You just remember the few games that have unusual themes like depression or anxiety.

Because being an indie dev makes you want to kill yourself.

Indie devs are all a bunch of limp wristed pussy ass cunts.

Because indie games involve a lot less people. Kt's often the case that a single person makes the whole thing, so it's obvious that that one person will put a lot of their own personality in it, which involves their insecurities as well.

>it's an allegory
allegories are a sign of lack of creativity

Nah. Shit like Cave Story wasn't made by limp wristed cunts.

What exactly is wrong with what he said?

I'm tired of Americans and the "muh sad and depressed" shit all the time. No one cares you bitch. Do something about it or shut up.

People living in shitty towns in the 1800s were probably less whiny.

Silent Hill 2 also dealt with some heavy subjects and carried a depressing atmosphere throughout most of its duration, but people praise it nonetheless. What did it do right that so many other indie titles fail at doing?

People from the 1800s who lived in shitty towns died before 60 and kept their women in check.

I'm happy right now. Studying what it's a probably useless major, but satisfying enough, with a loving supportive family, and enjoying my hobbies, mainly reading (both manga and literature) and watching anime.

Why don't YOU do something about the Americans, then?

Because being a modern-day human is suffering, it's when you have all the information at hand to realize just how bad history used to be, how much the world unintentionally fucks itself, and having all sorts of escapism that is a more entertaining experience than reality, while society shuns social interactions outside of family, school or hobbies/workplace
My guess is that all the indie games are developed that way as a form of expression

>unintentionally
lol

dilate

basically this it's a sort of self expression
and being fucked up in some way(s) is pretty much a prerequisite to make a creative thing so it overlaps

Everyone yearns for their own version of a better world and at least a few amoral and malicious "actors" on the global stage are doing bad shit to secure their own power, the world isn't driven intentionally to shit, there's no cartoon villain to say "bwahaha! I have made the world a worse place, and that makes me feel good!", but it's usually the side effects of what those in power pursue that causes problems, like billionaires wanting money, country leaders wanting the betterment of their own nation (most of the time) and that sorta thing, it's an easy thing to ask "How can we make the world a better place" but it is difficult to answer it in a way that gets people to pursue it. If we don't get off this godforsaken planet in the next few centuries we'll probably nuke ourselves due to a diplomatic blunder

Modern "art" is not art.

because indie games get given too much credit. the gaming scene is dying and no one can save it
