Which game has the best Orcs?
Which game has the best Orcs?
Where the fuck do Orcs even come from in fantasy genres? are they supposed to be just "bigger human"?
an ork would kill that thot with zero hesitation
Orcs are a way to get niggers into fantasy worlds without it being obviously racist.
corrupted elves or whatever shit from ww1 and mines inspired tolkien
I've read in one setting or two or maybe it was it was for that particular setting, that orcs apparently 'have' to go and breed with humans one every 3 generations or so or they get more monsterous, the human blood dilutes that part of their blood for a 'while' as in a couple of generations after that happens. But again I think that was one artist's headcannon I saw. I know his style but forgot his name.
mordor, or some other fantasy africa equivalent
In Warhammer they're a crossbreed of fungus
>Tolkien proposed several semi-contradictory theories for the origins of orcs. In The Tale of TinĂºviel, Orcs originate as "foul broodlings of Melkor who fared abroad doing his evil work".[T 9] In The Fall of Gondolin Tolkien wrote that "all that race were bred by Melkor of the subterranean heats and slime."[T 10] In The Silmarillion, Orcs are East Elves (Avari) enslaved, tortured, and bred by Morgoth (as Melkor became known);[T 11] they "multiplied" like Elves and Men. Tolkien stated in a 1962 letter to a Mrs. Munsby that Orc-females must have existed.[16] In The Fall of Gondolin Morgoth made them of slime by sorcery, "bred from the heats and slimes of the earth".[T 12] Or, they were "The Orcs were beasts of humanized shape", possibly, Tolkien wrote, Elves mated with beasts, and later Men.[T 13] Or again, Tolkien noted, they could have been fallen Maiar, perhaps a kind called Boldog, like lesser Balrogs; or corrupted Men.[T 14]
It's an allegory for the industrialization and dehumanization of war.
They are supposed to be savage, and strong. It depends on which fantasy setting, but don't listen to people saying they're based off of Africans, they're not.
In Lord of the Rings they're a mix of elves, and goblins. I think anyway.
Middle Earth: Shadow of war might be a mediocre game but it undoubtedly has the best orcs in vidya.
I've been wanting to get back to it and play it again. Might even play the first game again first one of the good things about the first game is you get ALL the skills instead of in the 2nd game they're all divided or you have to 'choose' some of them.
The voice acting alone in the games is amazing.
I'm not familiar with Warhammer lore, is this all true?
yes
It's an extreme exaggeration, just like all 40k, but it's close enough to the truth.
Yeah, 40K used to be fun and self aware. Dunno what happened.
So, meme magic, basically?
Old lore was like this, if you handed an Ork a metal pipe and told him that it was an assault rifle, and he believed it, then he could mag dump a space marine.
But then they retconned it and it is constrained to reality more.
It is true, that's also why the inquisition exists, thinking the chaos gods have power is what gives them power.
red ones go faster
It doesn't matter if you believe in the gods as long as you act in their interests. Blood thirsty tyrants fuel Khorne even if those butchers don't know of Him. Old lore was that Khorne had decidedly orkish features because the Orks kill so many people they inadvertently empower him.
This
there's one story where a bigg ork was making a last stand and blasting everywhere for hours and they finally killed him with a sniper
when they check his gun it was just a METAL BAWKSES
Yes. Red painted vehicles go faster because they think they do.
raiding orc camps and the nemesis system were pretty neat. Didn't give a hoot about the narrative or much about the combat system either, tho
not really to that extent, no. newfriends to wh40k and retardbros love to spout this shit at any given chance though
big if true
yes its true. Also blue is a lucky color and purple is a sneaky color
PURPLE IS NOT SNEAKY
I have no idea where this meme came from, but actual camoflage is considered sneaky, and that’s why no one but Kommandos and Blood Axes use it.
God I miss old 40K lore. It was hilarious to think Big E was only still alive, stuck in his rotting skeleton, because the Orks heard he was immortal and so now he is.
Comparing niggers to orcs is doing a severe disservice to orcs.
But seriously tho, the closest real-life equivalent to orcs are the steppe hordes. Which were ruthless and were predominantly a warrior culture.
