Now post the crypto farming bulk buyers
10gb vram
ramlet card
What?
Zig Forums is making fun of it because it has 1GB RAM less than a 2080 Ti
there are people buying these and the benchmarks haven't even come out yet?
It has the same memory density as the 1000 series from 2016, almost 5 years ago.
It's only because it uses Micron's ancient 8gbit manufacturing instead of modern 16gbit manufacturing like everybody else.
Once Micron switches GDDR6 to normal manufacturing, the new cards will instantly double in capacity.
10gb VRAM is not enough for 2020.
We already have games that will use 7gb at just 1080p.
And the 16gb consoles are not even out yet.
>what is vram allocating durrrr
Sounds more like 2080ti fags are coping.
>And the 16gb consoles are not even out yet.
This is a fucking stupid argument. They use memory spread across the entire system. They are not going to use anywhere near 16GB for one game.
Im waiting for rdna2
That's the nicest looking AIB card I've seen yet for the new series. Looks good.
We'll see nice benchmarks and gains for now, but I think the real benchmarks that are going to matter is how well these do with next-gen games. We're still not quite 4K144 at these cards and next-gen, we're looking back around 4K60.
The big games that matter will be in November when Cyberpunk, Assassin's Creed, and the updated Gears of War 5 launched. And maybe the Witcher 3 next-gen update.
>7GB at 1080p
I call BS, source?
It'd probably be something ridiculous like Flight Simulator 2020
im personally looking forward for 1440p 144Hz gaming for the rest of 2020 and 2021, Im afraid C2077 will be unoptimized tho
Why do idiots that don't understand memory allocation whine about memory? Hopefully this pushes all these idiots to blow $1500 on the 3090 for that 'SUPER IMPORTANT 24GB VRAM!!!111'
And then they can complain that CoD is using 21GB of VRAM
No I'm not a retard that needs to consoom and buy new cards every year. Lol. Enjoy wasting your not so hard earned autism bucks.
There’s always this fucking post
In 2 years 10gb will be obsolete for 4k, 8 for 1440p. Screenshot this and revisit in 2 years
Doom eternal.
In fact, the lead programmer for Id soft says that 8gb will soon be the very bottom of the barrel minimum
Find his twitter if you don’t believe me
How the fuck would consoles get their games to work then? It'd be problematic or almost impossible for them to use 12GB of their 16GB allocation for GDDR6.
>Witcher 3 next-gen update.
w0t
It uses 7GB on its ultra nightmare settings which should basically be a warning that they are complete and utter overkill for almost no visual gains.
>tfw 4gb
PC games are never optimised as well as console
It's just settings tweaking. Consoles use medium presets which is why they can handle it.
Witcher 3 looks like shit
EVERY card becomes obsolete after 2 years by those standards. By that reasoning you would never buy a new card.
you faggots are honestly unbarable. The 2080 is almost universally faster than the 1080ti even at 4k despite having 3gb less vram and fewer cuda cores. The whole point of architectual differences is that shit gets more efficient.
first of all, VRAM usage metrics in games through afterburner or gpu z or whatever are POINTLESS, because games just allocate usually as much VRAM as they need to, not as much as they actually NEED. This is how modern memory management works by the way, ever wonder why win10 takes so much of your idle RAM yet when you start something the RAM usage drops?
second, with faster VRAM, the memory cycles clear quicker, and both amd and nvidia constantly improve their compression tech, making it that the same amount of VRAM data can be stored in less actual VRAM compared to older archs.
I'm not saying that 10gb vram is gonna be enough for 4k ultra for the entirity of next gen, but it will definitely be enough for several years, and the GPU power will be the primary limiting factor not the lack of VRAM.
tfw I have more money than sense and won't be a ramlet
The problem is that once you run out of VRAM you're down to iPhone levels of performance.
It's not like "oh I'll just lose a few fps". It's over.
This guy gets it. The rest of you are retarded. 10 GB will be fine for years unless you plan on running dual 4K monitors on max settings or some retarded bull shit.
when do you run out of it outside of 4k?
my 4gb 1080 has been fine so far in every game I play 1440p so I'm pretty sure upgrading to 10gb 3080 is gonna be plenty for future
>10gb in 2020
C'mon bruh
can't wait to play Normal Terrain and it's anticipated sequel Dense Terrain with my new rig
>1060 had 6GB vram
>3070 has 8GB vram
Where's the progress?
Buy a 3090 then
>1060 has 6GB
>1080 has 4GB
wtf where's the progress
>drop shadow quality 1 setting
problem fixed
