Serious Sam 3 was pretty easy. Just a few deaths here and there during my first playthrough on serious.
Funny how Doom Eternal gives me a far worse time considering it was built with controllers in mind.

Doom Eternal wastes a lot of CPU power on AI pathfinding and general AI stuff. Sam enemies run at you in a straight line. It's the whole reason why this series can handle 100+ enemies on screen.

Sam 3 is easy until the Knum alley in Guardian of Time.

Serious Sam has better enemy design than doom does even with the shitter AI, name one enemy from doom more memorable than the headless kamikaze.

This fucking garbage is the only reason I still haven't done the achievement for beating the last level without reloading a save, I've done the one for second encounter in two tries.

How the enemies are used is good, yeah. But the engine can afford to spam a ton of them at you because each one is so cheap.

how are the SS games multiplayer? does it just increase enemy spawns by like 1.5

Standard co-op just buffs the enemies health by like 25% or so per player, most people just seem to play classic co-op though where single player settings are applied and everyone just runs through shitting all over the waves of enemies.

you can configure them in a fuckton of ways, there's a lot of variables you can mess with just spam the grenade launcher bro

Maps have co-op specific enemies. It's a lot of fun in Coin-Op, where you have a limited amount of lives per map.

Serious Engine is literally built from the ground up to render mass amounts of AI, of course it's expected to do it better than fucking doom does.
