Same could be applied to Zig Forums, it's full of casuals and adhd zoomers these days

I've never heard grown adults discuss video games. What kind of place do you work?

A fun workplace.

>intentionally avoiding an opportunity to actually discuss your hobby with another human being.
>your coworkers for that matter. The humans you have to spend more time with than your own family.
Got to be good friends with some coworkers this way. We've been friends for YEARS since.

I feel like I'm in a coma with the same fever dream. I avoid this one coworker because he keeps bringing up greedfall every day I walk past him. I didn't get the game, I never played it, leave me alone.

Okay

>added nightmare: they pronounce it "memm"

>he doesn't have friends outside of work so he has to desperately cling to any breathing human who shares his interests
weak. Most coworkers suck. Some are chill. I'm not going to hang out with someone outside of work just because they play video games

kek. It was this for me but this obvious redditor guy who would not stop watching all of RWBY and telling me about it

>Sorry I don't play Animal Crossing on my Switch, but I've been playing the Atelier Arland trilogy, you should check it out
>Immediately fired

Why is it always like this?

Don't show your full power level day 1.

>dont play league
>dont play csgo
>dont play fifa
>dont play animal crossing

>slowly revealing your power level over the course of 4 years

I work at gamestop and it's a literal hell

>Coworker asks you out
Now's my chance...!

>tells others that you have a small dick
was it worth it?

why are you talking like youre in an anime

Retail is comfy desu!

>work alone
>the only social interactions you perform is updates to your boss
Feels good bros.

>it’s only ever whatever the latest AAA release is or 2K sports
>console only

Please make it stop

I have coworkers who do this and even though it was awkward as fuck at first, it's actually pretty comfy.

I have this zoomer colleague who likes to talk about his CoD kd and talk about all his epic kills he's done even though I really have no idea what he's talking about
He's an alright lad though

>Hey user what’s up?
>Nothing much how your doing?
>I’m fine
>Cool
>Hey I asked around and Mark said that you have a pc and play games
>Yeah...
>So I wanted to ask if you wanted to play „Among Us“ with me and some other dudes from work, it’s more fun with more people
>Sure
>PogChamp (he said it) will give you a invite later to our discord server.
WTF did I get myself into, should I just say I’m sick?

You're gonna fuck things up

It's usually when I take the rare opportunity and make fun of the for playing video games, kinda like on Zig Forums.

>>PogChamp (he said it)

Anoooooo, it's nice to properly punctuate your feelings, desu!
Personally, text is, etoooooooo, a prime device for miscomunication. So it's worth the effort to explicitly inform any reader what your feelings were when you typed out your message...!

Er, sounds pretty fun ? Am I missing something here?

>PogChamp
user you don’t want to play games with someone who says Twitch memes in real life, believe me

They do.
I worked at several different places and most people just keep it short because they are not your friends and just want to be polite

>Not learning this lesson trying to fit in in school
Accepted my ideal lifestyle early on and been happier for it. Covid lockdown has been the best thing to ever happen to me.

iktf but it usually ends up being fun
worst case: you just never do it again and it's all like before

Oh I have no fucking clue what a pogchamp is
Or any twitch memes
Still, they might be fun enough to play with?

>You should play X with us!
>It’s a private server

>"You mean the hacker guy?"

>have to join their discord
>they want your facebook profile
>"sorry guys I'm busy"

Bad idea

>Me being the only gamer in every job I've ever had.
it sucks.

They absolutely do unfortunately.

>tfw able to partially reveal my power level to some of the autistic programmers
>my development requests are made a priority and they complain about everyone but me

It's an abstract feel. They all have absolute dogshit taste in anime and games.

>"hey bro, are you going to play generic VR shooter with us? we are totally shit but believe we are gud so that should be enough"
>"woah, look at generic pirate mmo here! we are totally going to play it despite you warning us about it"
>"yeah bro, generic pirate mmo was totally cool and nothing at all like you said! yeah, we don't play anymore because of no content, but it's not because of your prediction that it will have no content! the content is there, just not yet released!"
>"look at this supercool card game! we loved wasting our money on pokemon and magic cards as kids, so we are super excited to waste even more on that shit now! I bought some packs for $500 to dab on these kids haha!"
>"I once dropped >$2000 on some mobile game and I regret not a single cent! that's life bro"
It was then when I stopped shutting up and instead started to openly shame people who talk about video games. For the longest time, I thought I was the loser, but all they did was wasting their time and money on literal gambling. Now I'm swimming in money compared to them, for the sole crime of not paying for entertainment.

>>intentionally avoiding an opportunity to actually discuss your hobby with another human being.
Yes.
