Wow they did Shivan Gorge dirty as fuck.

>JUST FUCK MY STANDARD UP BRO

Risk of Rain 2, and I love it for it.

Mtg: arena

Old school magic still has some of the best art in existence. Really need to invest more into it.

>Claim they only test for draft and standard
>Even those formats are fucked beyond belief

How the fuck is the red one so bad?

Phyrexia > Any other faction on MTG

It's not uncommon for one color to get fucked in a cycle like that.
Look at the boon cycle
>Ancestral Recall
>Dark Ritual
>Lightning Bolt
>Giant Growth
>Healing Salve

Not gonna happen. WotC is pozzed as shit and would rather fire their most loved artists to appease the horde.

I don't magik, whats wrong here?

Dota
Everything looks really good and strong on surface level until you see just how busted some things can be compared to others

two of these are so broken good that they have been widely banned across multiple formats, two others are conditionally excellent cards that pop up every few years, and Shivan Gorge is borderline unplayable even in joke decks

that's actually two different incomplete cycles together in one pic. always funny how people compare them as if they're supposed to be similar and do similar things

green blue and white only give mana if you have specific cards in play, making them trash

based sanctums

numenera

nice try

I was wondering this, they don't look like a proper cycle
Also I'm guessing black and green are the strongest by far?

I have a Gaea's Cradle, stopped playing the game 15 years ago.

The blue one is the strongest and it's banned everywhere, it's a retarded card.
Then green, and then it's debatable on black and white (depends on the deck).
Red one is shit.

The red one is still absolute trash compared to phyrexian tower though.

The academy is busted beyond belief with Gaia's a close second/similar depending on deck and circumstances. For comparison Tower is about $25 with Academy $100.

actually, Green and Blue are strongest, or at least strong enough to get banned out of +75% of all formats
the black one is powerful too though, so you're not that off the mark.
here's the 6th land, and the only other lands besides basics in the set were slow, mono-color Cycling {2} lands, and a non-slow colorless Cycling {2} land. Urza's saga was pretty wild.

Also one Grim Monolith. What are they worth nowadays?

>The red one is still absolute trash compared to phyrexian tower though.
true that. thankfully the injustice was fixed with Valacut, the Molten Pinnacle

Looking at SCG about $200. Probably lower if you look other places.

Wtf? I have a new graphics card in these.

why's academy such a big deal, I thought pre-mirrodin the game was scarce on artefacts?

then its not worth dick, those cards were only printed for one set, they would have that art if they were legit

>I thought pre-mirrodin the game was scarce on artefacts?
power 9.

FYI pro magic fag here the red one isnt actually bad even by todays standards, depending on the red cards in the format I could easily seeing that shit getting standard banned just a few years ago and if you compare it to the time period in which it was printed its actually a pretty high power level card. People just see flashy shit like gaias craddle and forget that we didnt have things like craterhoof back then lmao

Man I just wanna play fun and cool magic, like every format.
Why does mtg online have to be so expensive and arena so shit. Life is suffering.
I wish legacy was more accesible.

Check out the "academy" deck.

They are Urza's Saga, black bordered, English text. Like I said I haven't played in 15 years.

and if the art is different its a copy

yeah you can blame EDH players for driving up demand, which increases price.
now anyone who wants to play some good old Legacy Elfball is shit outta luck unless they're fine with casual budget options like Itlimoc

even back then you still had Lotus Petal, Mox Diamond, Mana Vault, Voltaic Key, and all that + academy + variable draw spells or shit like Scroll Rack were more than enough to win a game, add in some spice like Mind over Matter and it's totally fucking fucked mate, big time

you've misread his post. he's implying he can sell the card for a graphics card.

have you tried Xmage? it's not the prettiest but it gets the job done
also buy a printer and some sleeves, print and sleeve up whatever cards you want to play together with some bulk draft chaff, and have fun playing

oh ok. i feel retarded now, thanks.

I legit just sold a totally busted up and destroyed guilded drake to a budy of mine for $100 and if I had really wanted to I could have sold it myself probably relatively easily for like $200, btw the damage im talking about is like totally worn out on both sides from no slevee shuffling type of damage lmao(dont ask me I bought it years ago for $10 in that condition)

i stand corrected.

Street Fighter 2

Regarding paper magic IRL, most people that play old school magic (that I've seen on stores) are only interested in playing in sanctioned events, and I don't live in a place where there's a variety of huge wpn stores with tons of different people so I can meet folks interested in playing legacy or vintage or anything. It's kind of a clusterfuck to be honest.
Regarding xmage, I'll check it out. But to be frank I'm actually kind of embarrased of playing and fucking it up because I'm not THAT used to the format. Somehow I'd be less embarrased if I had more IRL experience.
