I honestly think Doom 2016's multiplayer is better than Battlemode.

I wish Eternal had regular multiplayer, Battlemode died after a month and now has "le epin hardcore playerbase"

I vastly prefer Doom2016 because no bing bing wahoo segments and the lack of cutscenes

That said I still like Eternal, once you get the super shotgun and the hook and chain it gets really fun to string together kills

Oh you sweet summer child. No, you're not contrarian. Your taste is quite normal. Doom Eternal was received with high grades all over the world, besides the retarded rootkit spyware, it's a great game and people like it.

It's Zig Forums that is contrarian, regarding pretty much any game. If a game is popular and the normies like it, Zig Forums shits on it every single time because that won't let them feel special. For you, that just means you're more normal than you give yourself credit for. And that's not a bad thing.

It's good because movement is good, no retarded pinishing for failing it like in doom 2 or insta death in 16, magnet so you don't have to worry about precision and allows levels to be more open and creative visually

You can't even skip the cutscenes in 2016. There is one right when the game begins. Or no... Not one. Multiple.

2016's MP had a fine base to work with. Just ditching the loadouts would have gone a long way to fix it, imo. Shame id threw the baby out with the bathwater.

I played both games with my 16 year old younger brother when Eternal came out. We played Eternal first and then 2016. Both of our opinions were almost the same. Doom Eternal is a much better game. 2016 is just shooting abd running out of ammo. 2016 is much harder and the fighting isnt as fun, you are much less aerodynamic in 2016. I loved the chainsaw ammo mechanic in Eternal. The environment is better looking. 2016 is more "realistic", but it is bland and red, and in some areas and it can be difficult to tell where you are supposed to go next. Eternal does not have this problem. The sounds and animations are much better in Eternal. Overall, Eternal feels like a much more natural game, if that makes sense. THe one thing I liked in 2016 more than Eternal is elements of the story. I liked the story more in Eternal, but I had to watch YouTUbe videos to completely understand it by the end. 2016's story is more straight shooting, which is good, but Eternal has more of an "Epic" tone.

Which is countered by the lives system.

Eternal cammie shits on doom but the mutliplayer is better but if it was done with eternals movement it would shit on doom it feels much slower

But it is. Doom eternal is extremely easy once you figure out how to play. I thought it was harder at first, then I realized how to play and the game become boring because of it.

Eternal really feels like a good six hours of content got scrapped. It also has no need for the pretty weak story or the strange insistence on having a weird space fortress. It's fine as a game, if a little awkward with the way it handles the UI/HUD, but I think 2016 was a better package. Then again, Eternal might come out on top if the DLC is good.

I personally felt like both games curved well enough difficulty wise on UV/Nightmare/whatever. They both fall flat around that 60-75% mark, but that's typical. I also really don't see the point of the arm blade or Doomguy's return to showing skin. Frankly, I can't remember the last time I felt really challenged by an FPS or TPS that wasn't objective based more than shoot them 'til they die based.

Also 2016's multiplayer was pretty cool and I think it coulda done well in Eternal if they'd just made a bit of effort. I pooped on so many people when they released that super pistol.
