When will Nintendo get with the times already?
When will Nintendo get with the times already?
Never because they have an army of imprinted retards who treat nintendo like the father they never met.
I thought it had youtube already
Pathologic Switch port when?
>When will Nintendo regress
Hopefully never. I'm sick of OH SO DEEP storytelling with obvious antagonists. If I am to have an obvious antagonist, I want to beat his ass with a sword.
>deep cinematic gameplay
This is an oxymoron
Play Witcher 3 and TLOU2 and you'll realize how retarded you are
lacks games with good gameplay too
>play TLOU2
>play
Op is clearly bashing everybody else for having shitty games, who rely on, press X to awesome and i cry every tim ;_;
Wow, you must really hate Witcher 3.
>Cinematic gameplay
Fuck movie games. Nintendo doesn't need a game with a cutscenes that go on forever.
>kill wolf in red dead 2
>it whimpers and howls as it limps off if you missed a vital organ, pack comes to mourn it later if you come back, you can skin for meat and hides
>kill wolf in botw
>poofs into magical steak
It literally got Hellblade which uses that stale gameplay to deliver some good puzzles and actual fucking writing and topics I would only find in surreal RPGMaker games otherwise.
It doesn’t need deep cinematic experience, but at least some linearity and storytelling wouldn’t hurt to motivate the player into doing something. Theres a thing called balance. A full freedom open world on paper sounds good, but in reality it just gets boring as shit after 5 hours to anyone who actually has a breadth of experience in open world vidya
>deep
>cinematic
you can choose one
yes there is too much videogamey mechanics in viedeo games video games should be movies not video games the less video gamey video games the better it will be i hate video games
>But, the Nintendo Switch doesn’t have any deep and complex story-driven games, like The Last of Us Part II on PlayStation 4. Sure, it has a few indies here and there, like Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice (originally an indie) or Celeste, that toil around with your emotions, but they come few and far between. I’d love to see Nintendo themselves tackle cinematic-like storytelling within one of its first-party titles. Yes, I still want to see bright and colourful Mario platformers and uplifting games like Splatoon 2, but I want them to break out of that comfort zone. They started to do that in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild with more of a character focus on Zelda, but I’d love to see more. I want to see deep, complex characters from Nintendo’s first-party studios.
>It would be amazing to see Nintendo’s masterminds of gameplay come into touch with the more modern storytelling route PlayStation Studios has taken every once in a while.
>A cinematic story experience, in my definition, would be revolving a character having an arc as he or she explores the world around them. They meet people around the landscape, overhear conversations from townsfolk, and see the effects of their efforts on the world around them. Picture something like Cloud in Final Fantasy VII Remake going around Midgar and him seeing and hearing the impact that Avalanche has done. There would be high budget set pieces, emotional scenes, and a change within the character you play. You don’t get that with any Nintendo-developed game. Some have argued that Xenoblade Chronicles stands up, but to me, the weak side quests, the lack of show-don’t tell world-building, and the mediocre performances from the cast say otherwise. It is perfectly fine for Nintendo to continue the way it is going, but I really want to see them tested with a story that can leave an impact alongside their excellent gameplay prowess.
TLOU2 actually does have good gameplay, but the story is so fucking garbage I couldn't bring myself to give a fuck.
>Witcher 3 and TLOU2
Lol I haven't played either. Are they really that similar?
both have a different type of soul but still soul.
fun games yay
No.
most jrpgs are cinematic garbage and switch has a lot of them
Both do a great job of having cinematographic combat that actually gives you a fantastic feeling of weight when you split someone in half
>I’d love to see Nintendo themselves tackle cinematic-like storytelling within one of its first-party titles.
please get this failed film maker meme out of here.
>2020

>Sticker Star 3

>Mario Ports
>October

They dont need to be cinematic, stuff like luigis mansion 3 is already that. But i agree that almost evey switch game has no fucking depth and is designed for remedial kids.
Unironically not even trolling, it has better gameplay than every single switch exclusive that ive played.
>Botw Zelda
>Deep story driven
Did he play botw?
None of thst shit in his hurr definition fits the definition for deep and cinematic games. I fucking hate these retards.
>lacks deep cinematic gameplay experiences
GOOD. Fuck off with that rubbish.
>treat nintendo like the father they never met.
then why are last of us and god of war daddy simulations?
Shitty, on rails movie games? Good, they are cancer.
The Switch has always had a pathetic library and is just following the Wii U development cycles. They will have one last spurt next year and release the next console.
Nintendo can barely develop games now, they just port shit. The Switch didnt even get another mario game or even a mario kart, its entirely coasting off Wii U builds and releases where most games feel like pathetic expansion packs.
>Nintendo can barely develop games now, they just port shit.
Nintendo have released more new games this year than Sony and Microsoft combined.
Nintendo wins again.
How do they keep doing it, bros?
games with a budget of $100 are not video games.
>Says he's not trolling
>continues to troll.
I hope not.
Does FF7R actually do that good of a job at not having a show don't tell story and impactful side quests? Haven't bought it yet
and that's a good thing
Nintendo releasing deep cinematic games where gameplay is 40% walking around while NPCs chatter will be a sign of them running out of ideas
>normies getting tricked into thinking copy and paste gameplay with mocapped story beats are progressive and modern for game design
This can't be serious.
>Deep cinematic
Some of the deepest games ever have basically no cutscenes. Marathon for example, has one of the most interesting and multilayered stories in vidya. And all with just one VA.
Is this an ironic post? because that's basically what paper mario is
>Some have argued that Xenoblade Chronicles stands up, but to me, the weak side quests, the lack of show-don’t tell world-building, and the mediocre performances from the cast say otherwise
So the dude is just straight up lying about Xenoblade?
What games are coming out for christmas?
