The character designer was an ass man for sure.
Same character designer that did 2B
Akihiko Yoshida has perfected his craft for decades
Yes
>Single player MMORPG
>Grindy hunt missions padding out the gameplay
>"It plays itself!"
>Vaan and Penelo anywhere near the story, when Basch and Ashe are far more central to it
>great
I will never understand why XII receives so much praise on here. I might understand if it was your first Final Fantasy.
Hunts are completely optional except the tutorial one.
FFXIV.
>great
It was good, not great.
lol XIV is a parasite that has nothing original going for it. It's whole MI is to take other FF content and recycle it into dumb plot points and bosses.
Honestly the world was pretty based and thats about it. The story is pretty boring and full of irrelevant characters. The combat is pretty fun but Gambits both improve and ruin it. But some of the more hidden locations and dungeons were challenging even in late game. Plus it did technically have the strongest boss in any FF that took a literal week to beat.
RTw/P is fun.
Is that really a point in the game's favor, though? The same is true of all the post-game content. Once you've completed the main storyline, you don't HAVE to do all this optional stuff, but why make such a sizeable portion of the game optional? And if their optionality is meant to be a consolation, aren't you just conceding that they're mindless busy work?
>but why make such a sizeable portion of the game optional?
Because the hardest hunts require preparation that exceed the mental capabilities of brainlets
thats not FFXIII2
youtube.com
>Because the hardest hunts require preparation
So does an MMO raid, but that doesn't automatically make the outcome worth the time investment. But at this point I have to check your quads, which I think means I lose the argument by default.
Yoshida is based
Matsuno is based
Ivalice is based
Asses are based
Vieira are based
Judges are based
Hunts are based
Until FF7R
>disable all party members other than Vaan
>combat becomes way more fun
Love the TZA version, but I have no idea why they made it easier. IZJS had a good level of difficulty.
Because is the last good final fantasy
Mainline, sure, but Echoes of Time released after it so
>Is that really a point in the game's favor, though?
Yes
If don’t like thing just don’t do thing
>And if their optionality is meant to be a consolation, aren't you just conceding that they're mindless busy work?
Doing hunts basically null all grinding since each hunt often will have you level up and get enough early gear, loot, and gil to where you can easily do all optional things without realizing it.
>that one where you have to fight the samurai guy and his dog
Mother fucker that fight actually made me use all my items for the first time in a FF game after the starting area.
@524610062
Shut up, cunt.
>outing yourself as a newfag
Go back
This is my only gripe with the game.
Anyone knows if there's any (good) difficulty mods for PC?
@524612214
Dont write like retard
The guild quests and hunts for me added a bunch into the story and world building. If I did them after the main quest instead of in line with the main quest I'd probably see them as a waste of time.
was FFXV, which is also the only good FF since the ps1 era.
I fucking love the aesthetics in this game
Played all of them. XIV takes it. Sorry.
>you get a letter from queen ashe
>your face was chosen by queen ashelin as her royal throne. you are ordered to travel to Rabanastre at once."
what would you do in this situation?
>Dude what if we made half the playable cast be inconsequential to the story
>Dude what if we made a cast that barely says anything and almost never interacts with each other
>Dude what if we made multiple cutscenes where the main character has no idea what's going on and just stands in the background while people who matter speak
>Dude what if we made a villain who has zero emotional connection to the heroes and doesn't even meet them until the last ten minutes
>Dude what if Star Wars
>Dude what if we gave the narrator a comical Apu accent
>Dude what if we made a political plot and then ruined it by turning it into standard ancient god shenanigans
>Dude what if we made a plot where the heroes have almost no impact on what happens until 95% of the way through the story and spend their time traipsing through non-descript caves and ruins
>Dude what if I'm Captain Basch
>Dude what if we made the sheathing/unsheathing animation stop you before and after every battle
>Dude what if we took everything 100% seriously and had zero levity
>Dude what if we wrote all of the dialogue to sound like a Renaissance Fair
>Dude what if we we had no overworld and all travel was handled by a menu or floating teleport crystals
>Dude what if we made a battle system where you set everything up in advance so that you don't actually play the game
>Dude what if we made summons useless except for opening doors
>Dude what if instead of fun side quests we had only fetch/kill quests like in some generic MMO
>Dude what if instead of having fun side games like the motorcycle chase and Triple Triad we had nothing
>Dude what if we had really shitty music
Yikes you really like pressing the same sequence of buttons in order 100,000 times and paying $15 a month to never interact with anyone?
Cringe desu
Lady Ashe was killed during the Archadian invasion. This is clearly a scam letter. I'd Ignore it.
xiv is the worst FF
ff12 is the worst ff
