Bruh I only play Higurashi Daybreak Portable Mega and Ougon Musou Kyoku CROSS.

What have you guys been playing?

I finished Totono, Ghost Trick (yes, it is a VN), and 999. Now I'm moving onto VLR, then maybe I'll try out Ace Attorney or Raging Loop. Totono became my 2nd favorite game of all time, Ghost Trick 4th, and 999 5th.

Raging Loop is pretty good. This motherfucker prime witch opponent material.

None of these are VNs, they're AGs (Adventure Games).

>Ghost Trick (yes, it is a VN)
No it's fucking not.

Tsukihime.

I really can't tell if this is bait or not. 90% of gameplay is reading. Even if you don't think Ghost Trick is a VN, or that 999 has too much gameplay in Escape Rooms and making choices, Totono is pure VN with no gameplay.

That's green
That's blue

Neither is it puzzle or adventure game though. Too much reading. So how would you classify it? I assume you're calling it a non-VN because of the visuals and presentation? Or did you assume it was made in the west because it didn't follow the generic anime art style?

Never played Totono but GT and 999 are AGs, that's their correct genre. Heavy-texted ≠ VN.

Stop using Yotsuba you fucking retard.
This is a blue board.

I like that this debate is still alive in another decade

"A visual novel, often abbreviated as VN, is an interactive fiction video game genre, which originated in Japan, featuring text-based story with narrative style of literature and interactivity aided by static or sprite-based visuals, most often using anime-style art or occasionally live-action stills."

What's your definition of a VN? Are you saying any gameplay = not a VN? Would you consider shit like Danganronpa a non-VN? Would you consider being able to make choices a non-VN?

Totono's a masterpiece though, you're doing yourself a disservice by not trying it out completely blind.

So...
who won in the end? witch or the battler?

>implying I'm not using tomorrow for all boards

MAGIC IS REAL

VNs are pure text or text with choices. AGs are text but with gameplay elements.

God I want to marry Mion

Battler is a fucking cuck that changed sides and did absolutely nothing of importance, he has to bow down to CHADIICHI

AGs aren't text with gameplay elements. And as far as I'm concerned, choices = gameplay too, so your definition isn't even consistent within itself.

And if Keiichi was the Umineko MC, he would make the witches his bitches and convinced them that magic isn't real

YAMEROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooo~
