Skyrim vs. Oblivion

Well Zig Forums?

oblivion

Comparing turd vs more casual turd?

If we're being honest, Oblivion kinda sucks.

Black soul gems in Oblivion
>need to find an unmarked altar in the middle of the wilderness where you perform a ritual that only works once every week
Black soul gems in Skyrim
>common loot and can even be bought

Oblivion felt more like a fantasy game and had a more comfy atmosphere, but Skyrim is a better game overall.

I prefer Skyrim because i could never understand the sex mods from Oblivion and the gay sex and gay characters are just plain bad.

Base game? Clearly Oblivion, only retards think Skyrim is better than Oblivion, with all the mods, Skyrim but not because the game did anything that allowed for better quality mods but simply that it came out at a time where modding was much bigger.

Having enemies scale with your level makes a game shit automatically so Obliv is worse. Skyrim is also horrible outside of a nice world to look at.

oblivion was wild to my 14 year old self. i will always adore that game.

but skyrim is, in almost all ways, just the same game but more polished. more polished graphics, more polished world, more polished combat.

but on Zig Forums it's either one game is shit and the other is great. which is baffling to me. they are the same game same engine same ram limitations same physics same design team same limitations same design approach. how Zig Forums has turned these threads into shit flinging is beyond me.

it's like there's two cheeseburgers next to each other, one with a slice of cheddar cheese and one with a slice of gouda cheese, but otherwise are the same, and autists are screaming at the top of their lungs saying that one burger is inedible whereas the other burger is eternally based.

Oblivion, but what the fuck enemy is that I never saw one, granted I never finished the main quest

And there's so many fucking humanoids you can freely kill that you'd be braindead not to just use black soul gems over grand soul gems.

It is indeed shit but skyrim does it as well

Skyrim scales too what the fuck are you on about. At level 80 90% of the Draugr are deathlords.

Would ya look at that. I guess I didn't notice it in Skyrim because it's not 1 to 1 like it is in Obliv.

I like both

That user is a Land Dreugh.

skyrim quests are dog shit compared to oblivion
cities are small as ur penis in skyrim, compared to bbc oblivion

It's a land dreugh. Morrowind's version was an ocean-dwelling octopus man with crab arms.

>more polished combat

>thread about videogames
>uncontrollable racial masochistic sex fantasies
Get off of Zig Forums

They were pretty tough. They cast an alteration armor spell and cast basic destruction magic. Their melee hits are strong.

oblivion has a better rpg world that feel smore alive and the towns are more interesting. Also the spells allow you solve problems without combat more creatively. The combat system itself sucks ass and without mods the best thing to do is to never level up to keep your damage maxed out

obviously skyblivion

Funny how the Dreugh were supposedly had a massively strong empire, but they got their shit pressed in by the Dunmer who hunted them for their Wax and Hide and probably didn't even know about said empire.

they both alright
morrowind too
daggerfall / arena a bit before my time

I'll never understand the bitch fit over level scaling

To be fair All games take place on one island in the world and the rest of the world is supposedly wild as fuck.

Oblivion having unarmed among others makes it superior

Oblivion, but only using one spell at a time was a pain

Yeah not leveling up because that's what makes you the strongest is really fun.

I guess? You could use that one spell anytime. In Skyrim it had to be equipped in a hand.

They're both shit. But while Skyrim tries and fails to be genuinely epic, oblivion leans into its stupidity and becomes a monty python-esque black comedy about a bunch of retards in a kitchen sink fantasy crpg. As such, I found oblivion more enjoyable, except for the main quest, which has the same boring tone and inept execution as all of skyrim.

Oblivion's quests are better and it's a more comfy setting in general, but it's easier to get a new character started on Skyrim because you don't have to plan out exactly what you're going to focus on at the start of the game. I can't think of a single player house/base in Skyrim that's anywhere close to as good as the ones in Oblivion.

Who cares about being the strongest, just play the game.

I just disliked having to pop into menus to change spells. Morrowind was the same. I'm sure theres mods for it by now
