Lyle does keep conversations going, but he tends to weigh down the humor pretty significantly. He tends to not really pick up on the momentum of the others, and can come across as a sour note.
I don't entirely understand the degree to which people hate him here though, I'm pretty neutral to disinterested in him so I don't know if I'm missing something there.

Well Tomar is a voice actor, I've known about Lyle since Sanity Not Included, and have known Chris and Zach's voices for even longer. That aside, unless you literally don't speak English, I see no reason you wouldn't be able to differentiate them as they sound fairly distinct.
