if i give you the benefit of the doubt, and assume youre someone who never played these games before, and assume that they should be 40 bucks like crash/spyro, or maybe less because they were remade, please keep in mind that crash games are just ok, and spyro games suck dick. theyre definitely worth the extra polish and discount, they would be a flop without it.
a better comparison would be the resident evil ports. 4,5,6 were straight ported to next gen for a total of 60 dollars. no complaints there, and thats ignoring the fact that these mario games arent just some "good games" like resident evil, theyre like in the top 1-, maybe 5 best games of all time.

There's no QOL changes, the upscaling is lazy, they did the absolute BARE MINIMUM. It's not worth the price. Price should be determined by effort and development, not brand. Because it has Nintendo's name on it, it's okay to be $60. But these games are ACTUALLY a decade old, and more over, these roms are completely UNTOUCHED. The only solid reason I see for buying it is to have it on new hardware, but that genuinely still doesn't make it worth the price. It could be my favorite game in the world and I would not buy it because it is quite clearly not even close to being a good deal. then nintendo has the gall to make it a limited purchase even digitally? Dude fuck that noise, that's scummy as shit, you could never convince me otherwise. This is the only part that's correct, but it's also not impressive, they already had these made, how the fuck do you think Virtual Console works? Dolphin and GC run on the same backend so they literally only made ONE emulator at most.

Nope, it's based on the chinese nvidia shield port of galaxy that of course, remaps the spin jump to a button since there's no gyro. and that's still not impressive because you can literally do that on an emulator, changing controls is not hard holy shit.

They don't look better, the textures are AI upscaled and they only went half and half and did mario's textures in 64/sunshine and a few textures for the environment, not even every texture in the game, far less than even 1/10th of the game's textures. They don't play better either, they're literally roms, NOTHING was changed, on top of that, if anything, there's less controls touchscreen for galaxy on handheld and no analog for Fludd spraying. So no, you're completely wrong.

I mean, define "get away with it". Obviously the general public isn't going to mind if they don't know how to emulate the games, and you kinda have to factor the fact that Mario is simply a very popular franchise, and these are three completely different games- these are the main reasons why Nintendo can "get away with it".
And, even then, it's not as if the game is without criticism- plenty of people have been saying how shitty this deal is. What exactly could you expect the worst case scenario to be from any other company? It's pretty rare for ports like this to get enough backlash from people to get changed from any company.
At the end of the day, the only real difference is that Nintendo naturally draws in a younger crowd who are more inclined to become attached to the brand and defend it like drones, but that's neither here nor there since that's hardly Nintendo's fault.
tl;dr, it sucks, but bad ports are nothing new. Nintendo just gets extra flash because they're Nintendo.
