Doing New Game on hard run. Already finished 1 and 3 that way, fuck Griffon. Currently running 5 on dmd, since SoS is too easy with fresh character and got filtered by Goliath. Also playing V missions with Nero, because no way I'm gonna tackle dmd with underleveled V.

Why are all DMC comboes done on enemies with infinite health and disabled AI and not against actual in-game combat scenarios

But I did get the secret ending for beating Urizen on prologue so that's something.
I think Nero's play style annoyed me the most pre-devil form. Nothing felt super satisfying, unless I'm playing him wrong?

A good thing I guess. DMC3 was lightning in a bottle, he was never able to replicate that quality again.
The game really lacks satisfying combat on the easy/normal difficulties because the enemies have too little health so you don't get enough of a fight out of them, SoS/DMD play much better.
Were you making use of Red Queen's insta-revs for Nero? Getting the timing down make Nero a lot more fun to play.

Yes and no, I definitely tried using Exceed regularly. Just felt like it didn't accomplish much that I couldn't already do with a proper combo + breaker. Ended up using Helter Skelter a lot, breaks easy shields and good finishers.
I'm gonna give his bloody palace a shot tomorrow, I'm thinking his devil form will change it up for me.
As for breaker holds, only if I didn't feel like I needed that particular breaker; my tism makes me not want to waste em.
I mean for Dante and V is was pretty satisfying for what I've beaten so far. I figure V gets worse as the difficulty rises.
