My mom used to play WoW and think she still might play some other MMOs. She got me a WoW account one year when I was like 6 years old and I played a bit with her then.

There's not much to say. Back when I was a kid we had a Super Nintendo and it was pretty much a family event trying to beat SMB1. Nobody could do it because the family at the time consisted of just kids and 30 year olds. My aunt used to joke all the time that Peach must have gotten raped a dozen times.

Then my mom stopped playing games around the same time she started getting heavy into drinking. My dad divorced her crazy ass and got married to someone else and we moved to a small apartment, me, my older brother and her. One time I ate too much pizza for dinner and threw up all over the floor. She made me clean it herself because she was busy drinking and watching TV. I was 6 when this happened and cried the entire time. One time she went to jail for the night for threatening to stab a neighbor, I was like 8 or so when that happened.

Over the years she got even more self-destructive. A couple of years ago I became homeless when my renter went bankrupt and my mom asked my oldest sister to take me in, which she wasn't able to, so my mom threatened to kill her and her kids. Then my aunt got involved and she threatened to kill her too. As you can imagine, my mom's relationship with them is strained.

The last straw was when she lied to my father that I was dying in a desperate attempt to get him to talk to me again, even though I told her I wasn't interested in doing so. (He's seemingly not interested either as he has made no attempts to contact me after the last time I saw him, or maybe he's afraid. He knows I don't talk to her anymore so I dunno.) Then she got mad at me when I got mad at her for doing something I explicitly told her not to do, then she started crying and making up excuses. I finally realized that she does this every time I call her out on her shitty behavior and broke all contact from my side. The last time she called me, she threatened to show up at my house so I blocked her number. Haven't heard anything about her since then.

i'd play vidya with my mom growing up but she got ms sometime in the mid 2000s and eventually she developed a significant tremor in her hand that prevented her from really being able to play games. it was rough watching her go downhill.

When I was 6 or 7 years old I used to try to give my Mom 'video game lessons' (since she would take me to guitar lessons, swimming lessons, etc..)
I taught her how to play Super mario Bros 1, but she got bored after one session, guess she wasn't into video games
Me and my Dad would play Goldeneye a lot, though

The relationship with my brother is kinda strained. He still talks with my mom and even told her my new phone number which I wasn't very happy about. I have a better relationship with my older sister but I haven't seen her since Corona hit. I kinda miss her and her family, I used to play video games with my niece and nephew all the time.

idk if it would have helped or not, it didn't occur to me that there might be ways to suppress it. i was in college at the time and had a lot going on and didn't give it much thought. and she passed pretty suddenly without much warning, so by the time i was able to regret it, there wasn't anything i could do.

I used to play Farmville and Bejeweled with her when I was a kid, we'd compete over who could get the highest score, but she's only ever been interested in phone games.

There was one time where she bought lego LOTR because she wanted to connect with me and figured a lego game would be her speed.
My grandmother died a few days ago and I cried not because grandma is dead, but because seeing my mom grieve reminds me that one day my parents will die and I will be the one wishing they were still here

I taught her how to play Overcooked and played a few rounds. It's fucking weird how older people can't use both hands at the same time (for the analogs).

Played Diablo 3 and Original Sin with her.

Played alot of games with my mother back then, Tales of, Mario Party, Dynasty Warriors, PSO. But now she can't play most of these games anymore because she rapidly degradate because of her age.
