The appeal of GH was the good selection of songs. Even if there were some modern stinkers in there from Franz Ferdinand and The Killers, they always more than made up for it with the breadth of selection. All Van Halen, All Metallica, and All Aerosmith limits you to fans of those bands, which is a sizeable audience, but it is ALSO limited to the number of Guitar Hero players.

Rock Band 3 with the export packs from Lego Rock Band, RB1 and RB2 was the best experience I've had.
