Zig Forums help me have fun leveling my dwarf paladin

is it possible? my buddy is playing a rogue and we are doing duo leveling, but this rotation is killing me. any tips? suggestions?

What the fuck are you on about. Paladin is literally a glorified auto attack class.

Pick up some stupid on-hit proc weapons and use that one seal that does an extra holy hit each attack.

get a shield spike
Pull entire camps of murlocs and slowly wittle em down

If you want to press buttons you are in the wrong game. Go play FFXIV if you want actual gameplay.

WoW is more about optimization. unless you go for PVP but good luck with that, most of the buttons you press arent really your abilities but rather consumables, bombs, trinkets, etc. not exactly your skills.

im mostly leveling this guy for when TBC hits and pally tanking is actually really good. but yes the game play is boring. ive heard people say aoe leveling as a prot pally is fun. just seems like this quest grind is going to suck ass the whole way through.

Paladins are still a meme in TBC. dont get too excited. TBC is super anti melee. Prot is okay though, but starts slow and then picks up once you stack spellpower.

In WotLK I had so much gold I had to spread it across three alts because of the gold cap at the time. I had several Chinese gold farmers sending me herbs and cloth cash-on-delivery far below the market price, which I would then process into glyphs and bags. It was actually worthwhile for them to sell to me, because I bought as quickly as they could produce. I controlled the glyph and bag market on my server so strongly that any time a competitor tried to get involved I'd crash the market for weeks on end and drive them out. I was making so much bank that I paid for epic flying training for dozens of friends. It got to the point where I was more addicted to controlling the auction house than actually playing the game. Eventually I only logged in to buy/craft/sell. When Cataclysm came out, I had thousands of bags ready to sell to new Goblin and Worgen players. I actually had to make a guild for my alts so I could store all of the bags in a guild vault.

I know it's not relevant but I'm drunk and wanted to share my tale. I wish I were as good at economics in real life as I had been in WoW.

No. They lack AoE and burn through mana much too quickly. Decent raid tank healers. Shit dungeon healers. You only need 1 in a 25m. same with prot and ret. just one of each at most.

There are only two ways to have fun leveling in classic wow:
1. Get really invested into the story of every quest, because some of them are pretty cool story-wise. Immerse yourself.
2. Get together with your boys and dungeon spam together while having a good time with the boyz.

That's it. Anyone who's telling you "bro just do this build that allows you to pull a bunch mobs and aoe them down bro ur gonna have so much fun" is a fucking retard. You're gonna get bored of doing aoe pulls and seeing big numbers after the 10th time you do it (see: mages who spam ZF for gold). Either immerse yourself into the story and read all the quest text, or find a group of bros to dungeon spam with and have a good time. If you can't do either, don't bother with classic wow. You're gonna quit.

fun fact: crusader strike was supposed to be a paladin ability in classic, but it got cut for no reason in the last minute before release. It remained as a thing that paladin NPCs use in the Scarlet Monastery.

they actually removed crusader strike in vanilla because they wanted paladin to be an auto attack class and pretended seals made up for actual abilities. because they thought it would be fun to switch between them each swing.

They cut it out because the game's developers hated the idea of paladins doing any form of damage.

It really shaves my potato that they got rid of it but didn't put anything else in to make up for it. Jesus, one instant attack grug button would not only make paladins something other than a fucking meme but most importantly it would make the class FUN.

Do you know who kaplan is? When he played everquest which is wow predecessor as a GM of a his sweaty tryhard guild paladins were quite powerful. So powerful that they made shitty warriors seethe and rage by being superior.

Paladins in classic are not paladins. They're clerics. When you start thinking of them like this, it all starts to make sense. The developers were not retarded, they were simply under the assumption that paladins are supposed to be a purely supportive class. That's why you have three diffirent healing spells (flash of light, holy light, lay on hands), and a bunch of defensive utility spells, but offensively all you ever do it auto attack.

The devs were not retarded, but they were too stupid to realize that paladins should not be clerics.

I heard about this too, but I was told that it was just a rumour and that paladins were not actually OP in everquest. I never played everquest so I don't know what to believe. But I do know Jeff Kaplan from beriefly playing OW, and I can attest that he is not a good game developer.

I had a lot of fun AoE grinding my way to 60. Always liked doing that. It's just precise enough, and you've gotta stay alert looking out for resists and shit.

Paladins are the AFK class. Just buy a second monitor if you don't have one already and watch shit while you play.

Worgen are the hottest race in WoW.
