no
just the music
the gamecube one was kino.
I liked the Mexican ones.
Does Bloodstained count as a 3D Castlevania?
Every castlevania is kino and 10/10 so yes user
It's 2.5D and a different ip, so yes
>threading your own post
Get a load of this faggot
CoD was pretty decent in my book, 6-7/10, kinda stiff controls but it was enjoyable, the rest were shit
No, but I think they're pretty fun.
The PS2 Games were pretty sick.
Lament of Inocence > Shadow games >COD
LOI is strong 8.5 of a game and seriously underrated.
What makes lament of innocence better? I've heard unanimously that curse of darkness is better.
The one you posted was.
visuals, tight controls, unlockables. Its like a copy of original DMC so it kinda works. COD is more like a copy of bujingai the forsaken city. Huge empty environments with disconnected combat without closing in attack. Frankly it has the worst drawing distance ever seen on ps2.
>okay, so we fucked up a little on the 3D games, fellow Konami deserters, how should we continue with the not Castlevania franchise?
>instead of trying to progress the series into something greater while still retaining the soul and atmosphere of the original games, let's regress back to the retro 2D platforming gimmick, because 3D is clearly the problem, and not our development team
I will never understand this. 3D is not antithetical to Castlevania solely because it's 3D. It can be done right, the retards just haven't come up with a way yet. And likely never will at this point.
I remember starting lament of innocence a long time ago but never finishing it, I need to give it another go.
Why don't you try them and find out? Report back when you're done and let us know.
The first Lords of Shadow is great, fuck Zig Forums. Castlevania mostly in name only but still.
None of them are.
god bless the emulators bro. I might replay it again too.
Yeah emulation is gods gift to gaming, anti-emulation fags are sub-human.

The first Dark Souls is unironically pretty close to how you should do a 3D castlevania, just make it more dynamic and platformy and you're golden.

>this will never happen
:(
As someone that's been playing these games at release since around Bloodlines:
Lords of Shadow 2 Alucard DLC > Lords of Shadow 1 > Lament of Innocence >>> LoD > 64 > Curse of Darkness >>>> Lords of Shadow 2
>Lords of Shadow 2 Alucard DLC
>the best
why? its literally 2 hours long
that 2 hours is literally better than all the content from the other 3D games combined
no but COD has interesting ideas with the demon followers stuff and how to evolve them, if you put those ideas in a better designed game with better combat it would be amazing
this, IGA is a good ideas man but fucking sucks turds at designing 3D games
ok. why?
>gamecube
????
Lords of shadow is good. Second game after that is dogshit though, dont bother.
Curse of Darkness is alright, I liked the familiars, worst part is the level design being corridors after corridors. Great OST too, most if not all the tracks were new and completely nailed that Castlevania feel.

Alucard's combat is fun, he gets to use all of his SoTN abilities to full effect, and the castle is gorgeous and fun to explore - and most importantly it isn't a long empty hallway simulator
I genuinely had fun with what I played of Legacy of Darkness. I'm considering jumping back into it at some point.
As a huge CV fan, I honestly really liked CoD, and I feel like it is the most direct representation of an IGA Metroidvania in a fully 3D world. It just needed more platforming and some polishing of the combat/movement controls and it would have been perfect.
2nded for :(
That's basically what I'm thinking of
I think Bloodborne is even closer honsetly but yeah castlevania needs platforming or it isn't castlevania.
