This is going to make 60fps a standard, so what's the point of PC gaming anymore?
This is going to make 60fps a standard, so what's the point of PC gaming anymore?
To play games?
fpbp
But the PS5 will have the best version of Demon's Souls.
There is no way those faggots decide to make 60FPS a standard after all the brainwashing and circlejerking over the silky smooth cinematic frame rates
PC gaming is mediocrity disguised through incremental progress brought on by grossly overpriced hardware, especially considering that the vast majority of Steam users game on toasters so developers won't bother trying to fully utilize the processing power of higher end hardware.
You reach a point in PC gaming where you realize that you enjoy pixels far more than actual gameplay. Which is kinda sad.
need a PC so you can mod on Fall Guys and play League Of Legends
welcome to 2004
144hz since 2014. Will be welcoming you in 2036
lol i'm actually switching from console to pc for next gen. have fun with 30fps and fake 4k movies
With my ultrawide 120hz monitor, i couldn't give two shits about 60fps. Thats slow as fuck
You'll buy it and then you'll download some mods for some games such as skyrim and download some demanding games, run them, be amazed at graphics, go online to talk about how amazing they look and then just keep browsing the internet.
Then after some days/weeks you will suddenly realize that you paid 2 thousand dolalrs and that the only games that are demanding are console ports that follow the casualized and wattered down modern gaming formula, aka making games focused solely on graphics, presentation and cinematic experiences instead of proper gameplay. You have essentially paid 2 two thousand dollars to browse Zig Forums. You'll also realize that instead of investing so much to play console ports, you could have simply gotten a console because they are the focus of this crap and have more of them in the form of exclusives.
Then you'll download some 5~10 year old game that can run on any toaster and keep playing that because it's much better than any modern crap. The only modern titles that will catch your attention at things that run on anything, such as Underrail (rail, not tale).
After that, you'll go back to looking things up about hardware and whatnot, tweaking your settings and eventually you'll be right back to the never ending path of planning upgrade paths for your PC because that's actually way funnier than playing anything.
If you're up for that, then go right ahead. If, however, you are smart, you'll realize that high end PC gaming is literally console gaming with better gwaphix as in not worth it at fucking all and that you should buy a mid range PC at the very best and put your money somewhere else.
Ever noticed how whenever those r/pcmasterrace types talk about vidya, it's always a specs circlejerk and NEVER about any games? That's because they don't play anything. It's all about THEORETICAL advantages that never come to fruition. When you ask them to cite games, they will ALWAYS resort to Stalker and Mount&Blade at the very best.
>I'll take shit that someone who has never owned a decent pc would say for 1200!
what games does the PC have to offer, though? the last good pc exclusive was crysis 1 ten years ago
all triple A games what kind of question is this?
>everything sony have shown is 30fps
snoys are delusional
Literally every game that's been announced for PS5 is confirmed to have a 60FPS performance mode, many running at 4K 60FPS.
You can do a lot more with a pc than just play games you fucking idiot. Your argument boils down to "i spent too much money"
Well thats your goddamn fault isn't it?
Meanwhile I'll be over here using my PC for shit a ps5 couldn't hope to be able to do.
It can't even run resident evil in 30 fps
Well you're partially correct, but you missed the point. Some products are better at doing certain things than others. PCs are better for working/editing/programming of course, but if you care about gaming as a hobby then you should really own a console because that's what they're designed for, and it's what many devs design their games for.
>60 fps
Lol imagine not playing at 144 fps fucking console plebs
anything over 60 is pointless, but continue moving goalposts as usual
>anything over 60 is [cope]
What the fuck do you need a high end PC for in terms of utility? Do you work with 4k video processing? Do you run simulations that require extra processing power? Do you do 3D art animation? Or do you just think you need an i9 overlocked to 10Ghz and the latest JewVidia rtx "This is it, you guys, this is the definitive card" XXXX to browse with 20 tabs in the background and have some game running on the side?
well do you expect me to fucking gloat over japanese hentai games on reddit you fucking retard?
try playing those on your console
so PC is the platform for degenerate coomers. ill pass
60fps will never be the standard on consoles. Never. If they achieve 60fps, they upgrade the graphics until it runs at 30fps with drops.
No I very much enjoy playing the games themselves
More games, more control options, cheaper games, upgradeable, free online, more games, mods, and I'm sure I missed some.
That's just the thing. If you care for gaming as a hobby you should be okay with putting in the extra money for a better experience that's only available on higher end machines. This applies to nearly every hobby on this planet that requires equipment but when it comes to gaming, noone ever seem to accept it. Instead people insist that the cheapest alternatives are the best. It's all backwards.
All multiplats are pseudo-PC exclusive.
In my experience PC gamers value good gameplay over anything else. The game running smooth ties into how the games play hence the heavy focus on performance. The end goal is just to enjoy games with few or no compromises.
playing on 8k
what, are you poor?
>BUT MUH EXCLUSIVESSS
Fucking hell. Get a job and have sex, Snoy.
I'm already at 144. Difference between my rig and a PS5 is I can actually hit my target framerate.
>"A cheers to you, user."
Based
>spend around 1,200 on gaming pc
>only play Age of Mythology, Deus Ex and Battlefront 2 2005 ver.
At least i don't have to worry about dips
