XV 2.0

>XV 2.0
It's gonna be garbage, isn't it? XV-kun is going to evolve to XVI-kun, isn't he?

FF fan base is cringe. You guys sperg just as much as the Star Wars fan base. Fuck off autist.

No, you are getting XIV-2.

And that's a good thing!

XV-kun has already taken a stance against it, it's the XIVfags that are enamored with it because they don't have as high graphical standards and have high trust in the Producer, the DMC5/Dragons Dogma being on board is also something some people feel positive about (and this is likely why XV-kun is already against it, he crusaded against DMCV IIRC)

This unironically.

Haven't heard shit from Barry tbhonest

No because anything is better than XV and there's a whole new crew around this one. am I expecting greatness? No but I'm interested and see no reason to feel negatively about it yet

Pretty sure i saw the usual rethoric and webms yesterday in some XVI threads, could be a imitator though.

Actually I into this game. Let's see how story will be interesting.

Nah it's gonna be the best FF in years.

Barry hates this game though. And it doesn't seem to look anything like FFXV, more like FFXIV

>wait for inevitable game pass version
>if its bad oh well
>if its good you got a good deal
Theres literally no reason other than multiplayer to get a game at launch huh.

I think I will set my standards incredibly high with the expectations that not only will this bring back Final Fantasy but somehow also turn out to be the best title Square-Enix has ever released. Not just the best Final Fantasy, but I'll also expect it to be the best game of any franchise they have made. Not for any real reason, just going to make these assumptions and have these high expectations.

>from one trailer
Please get help

I'm not basing my expectations on the trailer. Where did you get that nonsense idea from?

>could be a imitator though.
Theres no way he's still going it at. He uses the exact same webms, the exact same photos, the exact same YouTube links, the exact same reaction images every single time. Even he has to realize assuming it's still him that everyone knows it's him when he posts that photoshopped Noctis smile right?

they have ryota suzuki on board, who was lead gameplay designer for dragon's dogma and dragon's dogma online. he also worked on dmc4 and 5, and while I couldn't find concrete information on his role in 5, according to capcom's site he was "in charge of nero" for 4, so just a little important
I'm thinking it'll be an actually fun action game this time
I wonder if we'll see a revival of the gambit system for party members

>XV-kun is going to evolve to XVI-kun
You're joking right? This doesn't look anything like XV.

You do you, im honestly kinda split.

XIV Grafix don't bother Me, and frankly it actually elevates my interest because im sick of bullshots, to a point im in the crowd that is GLAD it isn't that Agnis Tech demo shit that is all flair without intent of delivery.
Action RPG gameplay was initially disapointing especially since they used a "Not-Warp Strike" among the moves, but I loved playing Magic Archer in Dragons Dogma to a point that THAT is legitimately my favorite A-RPG fighting style ever, so the battle designer is making me willing to overlook that, especially since XVs problems was not specifically how it was action based, but in how simplified it was, the amount of cheap bailouts (Potions, Summons, Quint-cast murderspells) and it generally encouraging NOT engaging with it.
No Job System is HUGE Minus, Dragoon Enemy was nice, but i remember the song and dance around Aranea making people think The Empire was gonna have a whole Slew of Job-Based enemies.
Phoenix and Ifrit look great.
Story pipqued my interest, more so due the Eikons then the GoT-esque stuff.
Joshua was really cute (non-sexually, which i apparently need to state now) and probably the best character design.
I expect there to be some "sci-fi" Magitek in spite of it not being in the trailer., but not upfront, more like how XIV does it with localized areas of ANCIENT ADVANCED RUINS and maybe a Magitek Kingdom.
MC using Eikon moves is neat since it reminds me of XIV Blue Mage, who is all about them Primal/Eikon Skills.

I don't really have high expectations, and im sure as hell not getting a PS5 for it on release date (You can blame XIII and XV for that), but it is enough for me to want to know more both with the story and gameplay.

>I expect there to be some "sci-fi" Magitek
need a excuse to put Cid and his airships in there somewhere.

>it'll be an actually fun action game this time
>I wonder if we'll see a revival of the gambit system for party members
it's crazy how people do the same thing every time they announce the game. why do you still have hope? it's been 10 years since they've made a single good decision

Final Fantasy 15 has killed any excitement I ever used to have about a Final Fantasy game
it was the worst game ever made by far, it sucked, incomplete garbage and no amount to updates and released content could fix it.
FUCK SQUARE-ENIX!!

hiring the guy behind dragon's dogma's gameplay is already a good decision though

Are they going to bring fishing back ? that's all i want, an upgraded chill in a fantasy world

What i want from a new final fantasy.

able to pick a class
choice your main lead fighter with three mages as back up
exploration into random different fantasy worlds
towns that are different and amazing to just stay in
lots of fighting monsters not empty land
a good system for upgrading
lots of customization with weapons and armor
Gold Saucer !
planet hopping X3
oversize creatures and not the same shit omega weapons
better voice acting
more spells and better ones
Darker theme with lots of death
less oversize heads (fuck you Japan, it's not cute!!)

The story actually looks interesting (or at least the concept is concise enough to communicate in a trailer), and that's half the battle with an FF game to be honest.

The battle system, yeah, it's clear that we're never going to move back to anything remotely resembling a traditional JRPG (even though other games have shown sucessfully how to update the formula - even FFVIIR tried for a best of both worlds approach). I hated FFXV's battle system, and I couldn't even grin and bear it because the story had zero momentum. I'm 100% over magical teleporting teenagers with acrobatic moves, but I get that that's still popular with weebs.

Final Fantasy should have a sort of grace. I want to play something that feels like those Amano drawings. Something that's weird and elegant and full of mystery and spirit. I already have Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, Nier, MGR et al, I really don't need that gameplay in my JRPGs.

while I'd love to see them try new turn based ideas (and you'd really think the success of bravely and especially octopath would make them realize it's okay to do that), I'm glad they're learning from the best action games since they insist on going the action route

Aside from having the same character/works design (I've heard it actually takes place in the same world as 14 but haven't bothered to confirm), what keeps making people think this will be anything like 14? The trailer showed combat and it looks nothing like 14's. Story and writing, sure, but it isn't going to play a damn thing like it and the gameplay is what first and foremost separates one game from another.

>(I've heard it actually takes place in the same world as 14 but haven't bothered to confirm)
Only a theory, and Shiva's presence makes it very unlikely.

I've been an FF fan since 6 and i didn't even bother picking up XV when it was on like 90% discount. Square Enix is all but dead to me outside of DQ, 11 was great.

Looks generic and boring already, literally souless.

Yeah, that's true. My main issue with FFXV wasn't so much that it did action RPG, it's that it did it so fucking poorly.

I think Bravely Default and Octopath are more "safe" bets for turn based as they're clearly smaller budget games. I understand you can't spurge millions of dollars on a game and take any sort of creative risks these days, but like you said, there's loads you can do with turn based to make it interesting and even more exciting and tense than real time. Just look at some of the boss battles in Persona games that require absolute attention.

XVI is SOULLESS, it will never have SOUL like previous FF games
