There's so many objects with so many effects I don't know what I am even picking most of the time or if I should. How do you git gud at this? How do you even complete this game? I already killed mom once, all I have left to do is repeating it with the rest of characters? I don't even get te progression. Game is fun as fuck, don't get me wrong, that's why I want to learn. Isaac thread I guess, I'm on antibirth plus by the way.

if you wanna play to win you can always look up things from wiki before interacting with them

No shame in looking up the wiki for these types of games.

What system?
There's an amazing quality of life PC mod that adds short descriptions above every item before you pick them up.

constantly reference the wiki

i think you beat mom 10 times they you get moms heart, then beat moms heart 10 times and you unlock the next floors, etc. paths eventually branch out. you'll get better as you unlock more items and learn what things do

just play it a ton, or watch people play to learn some basics
its a pretty good game though dont get discouraged
and use platinumgod.co.uk

I'm using an app on my phone while I play, I can link it to you if you're interested
Ps4, saw it dirty cheap and I remembered Smb so I didn't even thought about it
Will do, thanks, any let's play you like specially? Saw a couple of northernlion, and the worst part when I see some of these videos is when they don't pick up an object I would have totally picked, then they explain why and I feel stupid and overwhelmed because of everything you need to know about objects and how they mix beforehand

The game has tons of beginners traps when it comes to item interactions and stuff. Don't kick yourself for not knowing about all of that if you've just started playing.
Just look at each run as its own separate game and eventually you'll start to remember what item does what, and how they interact together.

huh?

It says rebirth, but it is updated with antibirth plus too

what happened to using wikis

Sometimes the best part is ending up with fucked up item combos that could end up killing you easily, like getting an explosive shot, then an item that makes your shots go back to you. learning through experience is the best way to do it
If you have rebirth and all the DLC, take off afterbirth and afterbirth +, since they add a lot more shit that could easily overwhelm you and generally make the game harder, and enable them when you're more comfortable with the game

using wikis is unethical, the only way to play is by learning through experience

no sorry i watched someone in my language when i started out
i don't know good english lets plays
there's a lot of stuff you have learn on your own and it will probably be rough becuas of lot of BS moments but that is just part of the game

Platinumgod is probably the best quick reference site, watch out for marked rocks, bombing those drop soul hearts. Beating 'final' bosses with characters unlocks items, and eventually more levels with even finaler bosses, there are lots of character unlocks which range from intuitive to nearly impossible to figure out without a guide/wiki, so just save the headache and wiki that shit.

No better teacher than experience though. Just keep at it and you'll figure most of it out naturally. Part of the game is that progress of learning what's good, bad, good for one setup, bad for another, etc

>How do you git gud at this?
Memorize enemy patterns/behavior and basic tricks like which rocks when blown up give guaranteed drops, and it's pretty easy. Like most roguelites, just keep the wiki open to look up items unless you feel like spending a hundred hours compiling a notebook yourself

Next up focus on beating Mom with every character, and if you want to know more

that's true for other genres of games, but for this one it's impossible to learn everything the game has to offer without using wikis. Games like this, especially isaac, are famous for having very specific secrets that you can only find by doing specific things that no sane person would attempt otherwise. For example unlocking the skele boy

using the wiki to learn what items do is unethical, an entire part of the game is bricking runs by picking up bad items

Experience AKA trial and error. The basic function of good games.

You do it, regret it or love it and then either never do it again or do it every time you're given the opportunity.

Even a proper fix wouldn't prevent requiring this. At the very least items should have proper descriptions of their effects in the list once you've found them but there are too many interactions for that to be reasonably listed.

What? You can disable the dlc? How?

have you ever used steam

In your steam library scroll down until you see dlc, click manage dlc, and uncheck the boxes

I'm awful with charging attacks like azazels one, how do I unsuck?

Ps4, is it possible there?

well the game runs on a shitty laptop from 2007 and is easier to play with a keyboard so just get it on pc

get good retard

Any new on repentance?

I have 1300 hours in this game and i still forget what items do what sometimes.
Never take pills unless you have a strong run already or PHD, they usually arent worth it.
Know what the colors of the Elites do. Dark grey explode on kill.
Play as Azazel a bunch if you need to learn what items do what.
Never take the fucking follower items unless its Lil Brimstone or wont cost you anything to take.
Don't do boss rush unless you're OP as fuck already. Dont go to Sheol unless you're OP as fuck already.

this hween maybe

Price? All platforms?

rotten baby GOAT!!

Binding of Isaac end: Platinum God 100% (Stop playing).
Binding of Isaac Rebirth + expansions end: Real Platinum God.

Some tips and tricks especially for early levels:
If you got extra bombs, bomb beggars and vending machines for extra money/health/item.

Always save one key for next levels Treasure room (yellow room).

Sacrificing a lot of health to blood machine might make it explode and give you either portable blood machine (exchange health for money) or give you free HP upgrade.

Bombing vases can give you money-related trinkets or coins. Bombing mushrooms can cause a poison cloud, give you Pills, or give you mushroom themed items and trinkets if youre lucky. bombing skulls might spawn skull turret enemies, give you a card, rarely a Black Heart and super-rarely a minion. Bombing slightly blueish rocks with X mark on them gives you various treasures, they're always worth bombing.

Secret room formula: Standard Secret Room always has at least 2 rooms next to it. Alternative Secret Room only ever has 1 room connected to it. Knowing this formula can help you make an educated guess which wall might have a secret room behind it. Bomb those walls if you got extra bombs.

Take extra risks early on. That means take pills and take Dead Cat in levels 1-2. The moment you start having good items, stop taking those risks. If you're having a really bad run, keep taking risks since you dont have much to lose anyway.

azazel is literally the easiest character retard
