Well?

Well?

I do, its just a pain to use them when they don't support HDMI and look like ass if I use an upscaler for my TV. Not to mention PC does BC effortlessly why can't consoles?

Whats bc

Black Cock

It's an easy answer you would know if you had an ounce of imagination. No sane person wants to keep 5 plastic boxes under their TV connected at all times. Switching out and reconnecting consoles just to play a game for an hour or two is a chore. Not everybody can have a dedicated "gaymurr" room.

>have to have a PS2, a PS3, a PS4, and a PS5 to play all of my games
>these consoles will break over time and need replacing
>controllers for each of them (that will break) that will need replacing
>have to pay for online
>also have a PC because I need something to browse the internet. PC needs replacing, too

>have one (1) PC
>can play every game made since the mid 90s
>if anything breaks in my PC, I can just replace the part that broke with a new part that is more powerful than the last part

Explain to me again how PC gaming is expensive

I do, I keep ps2, ps3, ps4, xbox OG, 360, OneX, Vita TV, Switch and Wii U all hooked up at the same time. And i buy back up consoles since I know they arent going to work forever.

As far as backups i got
3 - 360s
2 - PS3s
2 - Vita TVs
2 - Xbox Huge

looking to always add more.

If swapping a few cables is more annoying than not playing the games at all then why be outraged? you clearly don't that much

I want BC so I DON'T have to keep it. It's nice that the Wii U can play every Nintendo console instead of having to have them all out. Also, for something like the PS5, it's nice because I can play PS3 games again (my system died).

Nobody implied that. You wanted to know why people care about backward compatibility, the answer is because it's convenient. Moving consoles and games out of closet and switching cables is less convenient than just putting in an older disc into your already connected console.

Sauce on ps3 compatibility. I thought it was a done deal that we are only getting limited ps4 support.

the wii u doesnt support nes/snes/n64 cartridges

>You wanted to know why people care about backward compatibility
thats not what i asked, read it again

Not him but virtual console was decent on wiiu no? Not a perfect solution

Doesn't play ps3

resetera's daily dose

It's the up-front cost and setup that turns people off. You can buy a console for $300 and plug it in and play.

I do.
My issue isn't with the lack of bc, honestly I wouldn't mind much.
My issue is that they HAD bc, and now don't. I HAD titles that I purchased digitally, and now can't play them without an older system.
Physical media, sure, I'm fine digging up my older system and all it's games. But we're moving to a digital future, as pushed by these companies, and they can't even support the titles they sold us? Why can't I play my XBLA games on xbone/series x? Why is it cherrypicked? Same with ps4. Where the fuck are all those ps1 games I bought?

I have two PSPs, a Vita, my ps3 and ps4, a ds lite, 3DS, "The New" 3DS XL a Wii, and Switch. Trade-in values are garbage and with the advent of HDMI and simple video boxes its easy to play whatever I want. Backwards compatibility has never been an issue for me

lmao imagine being a consolefag collecting 10+ consoles just to play all of your games while I just have 1 tower the size of 2 of your consoles and access to every game forever.

you have to buy those
you can buy ps1 and ps2 games for ps3 too

Because they're poor AND entitled. So basically Zig Forums.

I don't really care for BC that much, but it would be nice go replay some of my PS4 games in 60 fps

>buy a game on PC
>it looks great
>5 years later I upgrade my PC
>can play that same game still
>can even crank the graphics up higher

Games on PC age like wine. Games on consoles are dead within half a decade.

I'll be playing Doom at 4k 144hz in 2025. You won't be able to play Doom at all in 2025 lmao

This is horder mentality.

Hard drive of my PS3 died, I just use my sister's Xbox One and bought the X360 versions of the games for 5€ on eBay each. Will replace the HDD sometimes of course (not like it's a big deal), but gaming on XOne is so much nicer. The framerate in GTA IV is very stable and the load times are nearly non-existant.

>Consoles
This is your problem.

I haven't sold any of my consoles until they've truly become obsolete, like my DSi when the 3DS came out. I didn't even get rid of my Gamecube, come to think of it, but it's unusable because the laser fucked up and won't read discs anymore.

That's part of the reason why I support BC. Consoles die, and if/when I buy the next one, I'd like my games to still work without buying another old console. The other part is digital preservation. The only reason I still have my 360 is because it has Scott Pilgrim, 3SOE, and MVC2 on it. I shouldn't have to keep it for 10 years and wait for rereleases or Fightcade 2 to happen and be good, I should've just been able to play this shit on an Xbox One at launch.

Before Christ.

>You can buy a console for $300 and plug it in and play.
old 6 gen consoles cost 300$ today?

what the fuck consoles did people have in bc? fucking rockstation? ooga booga
