God bless the nuclear weapons, now i can purge those fucking insects
anyone else stopped playing with biters on?
put 200~ hours into the game with them and now every time I come back they just make me want to tear my head out, biter defense is by far the worst part of an otherwise incredible game. the first playthrough or so it's novel and even fun at times, figuring out the best way to defend against them, researching military, playing a balancing game of expansion/fortification but in every other playthrough or in playthroughs where you just want to focus on fucking around with designs it ends up being a chore you have to keep coming back to
Fug the bug
I played with it for my first rocket, then disabled them on all runs since. They're just a nedlessly annoying nuisance once you know how to deal with them...
When biters actually become dangerous you'll already have access to logi bots and tanks. Copy pasting laser outposts on your borders shouldn't take you very long.
Before that just have a few assemblers making red ammo.
I disabled them after my first run. Once you reach late game, they stop becoming a threat and are just a chore that you have to clear out before you can properly expand.
I play on peaceful with a large starting zone so that late game when I'm expanding to far off train outposts I can choose to fight them if I want to clear things out.
I love the concept of having the biters and the whole defense game but I hate how your walls slowly get whittled down unless you put ten million roboports all along your perimeter
I still haven't finished this game, I need to get better.
I really wanna try a run like this someday
shouldn't this shit clog up real quick?
Not if you balance it well.
he dancin :)
>fluids
And more!

any reason to use barrels over tanks? they seem useless as fuck
on my first run I was so high on spaghetti that I would manually bring steel to my oil rigs and make barrels to deliver oil to my base.
other than that, not really no, it is however the only way to "hold" liquids on your character.
I can't think of a single reason. MAYBE if you're doing really compact setups, like loading all the ingredients for a product into a single wagon, you could reserve some slots for fluid barrels.
Also, barreling is the only way to sushi-belt fluids, which could be useful on really thin Ribbon worlds.
Anyone play while drunk?
Seems like the only way for me to get past the overwhelmed feeling
this level of autism is scary
i'm jelly
*turns bugs off at map creation*
now my 80 hour play-through can start
I actually tune up the bugs until the world is absolutely infested.
If you want to go full bot based. Never lay a pipe, just fly shit where it needs to be.
Is it possible to play Doom on Factorio yet ?
I just turn them off.
>not playing with rampant
pleb
What's wrong, afraid of pipes?
i just turn pollution off until i get artillery then it actually gets fun defending ur shit
>cant step on
>can judge throughput just by looking at them
>cant mix oils like belts can do with materials
pipes are the worst
there is nothing more mind-bogglingly insane than spaghetting angel's+bobs
what is that hideous black shit
