but did play college ball, you know?
does it get any comfier than a late night Dead Rising thread bros? if this survives
Am I the only one who didn't struggle beating this game first time? You just have to make use of everything, quicksteps, skateboards, mini chainsaws and tactics. Even at level 50 this game is pretty punishing and there's little room for error. Got the true ending first time, even got destroyed that helicopter.
its been so long but I'm pretty sure i also read on gamefaqs to how to cheese the game. The most struggle was with survivor AI
Asking as someone who only played a bit of DR1 and 2, what was wrong with 3? I hear way less people talking about that one.
I was weirdly autistic with this game when I was like 14 and I remember being insanely good at it, knowing where literally everything was, etc. Good times
Dead Rising 3 missed the point of Dead Rising immensely.
Dead Rising 3 was about zombie killing and crazy combo weapons when the charm from Dead Rising 1 was the brutal time limit and how weak Frank was (without mini chainsaws). It felt amazing escorting survivors through crowds of zombies partly because their A.I is shit.
DR3 is good, but I just like DR1 much more because it gives an experience no other game can give.
>that time Zig Forums thought up a dead rising 5 set on a massive sinking cruise ship and after a certain point the ship tips over turning the map on its side
I think a lot of people try rushing through the game and then end up stunted when they get to the late game where cultists and night zombies are a serious threat to someone under levelled.
I ship him with Chuck so much, I bet by Dead Rising 3 they added Nick into the family and had lots of gay threesomes.
ive always felt it resembles a Saints Row game more than it does DR1 or 2, both gameplay wise and just layout wise, taking place in a city and putting more of an emphasis on vehicles.
the time limit is still at least present in 3, unlike 4, but its incredibly forgiving to the point it may as well not be there. i played it for the first time earlier this year and i think i only missed like 2 or so side-missions that ran out. you make multiple safe locations around the city, and each one has a weapons storage box where you can freely take super powerful weapons/combo weapons at no penalty, so you're always a tank. and the psychos aren't that hard either regardless. there might be other things i'm forgetting but i think the emphasis on vehicles, overly forgiving timer and all around lack of difficulty are the big things going against it, nevermind the complete lack of that inherent off-beat Japanesey tone of DR1. also, the game is just very drab to look at, you would think they'd take advantage of the city location to make it full of colorful signs and lights and landmarks to replicate the vibe of the mall/casinos but its all just very grey and lifeless
>posts gay shit in a comfy DR thread
You have crossed the line you little fuck. Chuck and Frank can have a strong healthy male relationship without being gay, lots of men can have strong bonds without being gay because when you rely on someone for your life you start seeing them as your family. For your arrogance, I do not care for you.
It's just a very different game; one of the cases where the statement "it's a good game but not a good X game" actually applies. It disappointed fans of the franchise expecting something closer to the first two. That said, I played it first and I thought it was a good time.
3 is a zombie fest that took the combo weapons of 2 and brought it up 5 notches. It's too much and really kills the atmosphere.
The MC is whiny bitchboy that kneels to everyone for 3/4s of the game. He only gets some character development later on when you're sick of him
Gameplay they had to sacrifice autistic placements of items/shops/ect to accommodate vehicles. They're your main form of travel but you also get shitty roadblocks to prevent you from bringing them anywhere. It's solely there for point A to B in the safest manner possible. Compare that to 1 where the umbrella still left you exposed.
Since the map is more open there's no scavenging for materials. You get skill points then can use item categories to make combo weapons. Instead of looking for gas + sword to make a flamesword you can get window wiper spray (chemical) + a kitchen knife (blade) and make a flamesword.
Safe rooms are dotted all over the map with a cabinet of holding that grants you free items of your choosing. From rare combo weapons to basic materials. The same can be done with combo vehicles in garages.
Survivors aren't escorted. You randomly find them surrounded by a horde, kill the horde, then they houdini themselves away and give you PP.
I can go on and on about DR3 but I'm getting depressed thinking about all the details that they completely missed the mark on DR1/2.
I just beat Dead Rising 1 the other day. I like how bleak and hopeless it starts to feel near the end when everyone else is dying and the special forces come in. Is Off the Record worth playing? I liked 2 but I can't imagine paying for it again just to play as Frank. Is there anything new or radically different in it?
literally who?
>Is Off the Record worth playing
Yes. It's essentially just a rebalanced DR2 with Frank West. Nothing too different other than a story that goes in a different direction and Franks special moves from DR1 that are much better than Chucks
God I wish I was the panda.
Fuck off homophobe. Frank, Chuck and Nick are gay.
no sequel ever came close to capturing the feel of the first. perfect blend of camp and despair
I may be the only idiot that played and enjoyed DR4. Up to the point where a game-breaking bug ruined my gamesave anyways.
based
beyond based
extremely based and gaypilled
>Fuck off homophobe. Frank, Chuck and Nick are gay.
Die, please die. I don't have a problem with gays, but people like you who bring it up where no one asked deserve the shoe
What about Case Zero and Case West?
I'm pretty sure they're only available on 360. They're neat little expansions but they are very short. They're more of story than gameplay.
Off the Record is my canon Dead Rising 2 where Chuck is insane and carries a child mannequin around thinking its his dead daughter.
Started playing OTR yesterday. I daresay it's what DR2 should have been.
Which war?
Afghan? Gulf?
Do you think he was there in the battle of Fallujah?
Seethe, Frank loves kissing Chuck manly lips and rimming his bubbly ass.
idk bro most Zig Forums threads are about how much people want to fuck the cutie anime chicks, don't see anything wrong with homos having some fun. I find it much better than cunnychads shitting up the thread with wanting to fuck chuck's kid
Wars, plural.
>Katie grew up to be some rebel punk trash
I regret wasting my time getting dolls and plushies for her
Only DR1 is canon to me.
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...... nice grocery store
