Because zombies have been done to death "no pun intended". Don't get me wrong, I still like zombies, but there isn't much, anything new to do with zombies. Every single game has had a "why does RE have this now" moment or monster. Why does it now have a rocket launcher super zombie, why does it now have tentacle parasites, etc. But there's nothing wrong with it because it's been over the top cheesey horror since the first game with giant snake, spider, and all the other monsters.
