Welp

yoooooooo

What do you guys honestly think of the wirebug? I’m sceptical of it but from what I’ve seen the new moves you can do with it look fun to use, but I’ll have to see more before I make another judgement.

theyre trying new gimmicks out, i like it for the replayability. arts and styles in gen. world reinventing so much. 4u being a bad game.

all wonderful and different experiences

When will they learn

It looks exactly like the clutch claw if mounting is removed (so doing aerial tricks is fun and they can finally give jump attacks proper MVs) and the integrated combos aren't just a single attack for every weapon then it will be fun

>-ck baby!

I miss when MH was grounded and not cuhrayzee shit.

It looks like a better clutch claw with added functionality which is great. I see literally no downsides

why the fuck is this arzuros so fast

so is it gonna play like original MH or cuhrazy gen style

World mixed with gen

like World

As a newcomer from world, should I buy GU for the time being or just wait for Rise?

>don't have a switch

FUCK I should have bought one for Brigandine anyways, but I didn't ;_; Now I can't play either that or the new MH...

As long as it's just for maneuvering the map and adding combos into the base combat I'm very happy with it. The bugs that let u grapple in world are really neat, and the few extra combos clutch claw adds are its best feature.
I juts hope to fucking god wall banging and body part weakening isn't involved. That is the main reason clutch claw gets shat on IMO.

I'm so fucking hype for this game, and I can't wait for World 2/MH6. Must suck being a consolewar fag and not an idort.

I hope the wirebug attacks are fun to use. That one wirebug attack with the lance or gunlance that grabbed and pulled the hunter past a monster and let them bash with their shield looked fun. The sns round attack with the wirebug looked less fun since the hunter was stationary during it.

fucking 15 whole seconds every time they wander into each other that's longer than mounting

You mean fucking never?

You’ll get a lot of content out of it and it’s a pretty good game so I’d recommend it.
There’s still 6 months until Rise comes out so plenty of time to play it.

my opinion depends on how much you can use it, how versatile it is, and how many wirebugs attacks are needed to knock down a monster. So far we've seen monsters being knocked during a fight, so i'm waiting for more info on that
wait for rise, but if you have money to spare, go for GU as well

they never learn

it's gonna be fun you faggot

I liked if better when they would inadvertently attack each other vs the same scripted turf war event over and over

>GL gets a counter attack
Why did it take them so long? It took like 4 games of adding random Guard Points on the thing before they gave it a counter

Wait for your local riot and snag one up

>idort
Based brethren I love this post

Why are there autistis who want old gameplay back? No one with half a brain wants clunky pre-world shit.

don't talk world bab

Are neither of those monsters some kind of dragon? Sounds like Risechads already won, lol.

what did he expect? not only is the other guy taller than him, he weighs more and you're holding a bag and have longer hair. it was over before it started

Well compared to this new installment which has
>wall-running
>acrobatics
>wire-bug I take it because grapple was too realistic?
I suppose old MH could be seen as being more grounded instead of this MHxSpiderman crossover

Autistic people don't like change and get upset when their norm is disturbed.

I will play rise on ps5 in a year

All of those add depth to the game and make it feel like a new game, not some clunky dogshit from the PS1.

If you want 500+ hours of good Mon Hun gameplay sure. The core mechanics are almost identical to World. The main differences are a few QoL improvements in world/a few extra combos in World/clutch claw in World. Gen U gets styles which you can swap between, these change the basic combos of weapons and can add things like aerial jump (Roll into a monster and u do a jump that lets u do aerial attacks), a counter play style that lets u block and then counter if timed correctly, or do a fancy i-frame dodge with a special attack if timed correctly. If stuff like that doesn't sound fun the Guild style is literally default monster hunter mode. Despite what style you use you can use hunter arts. Some are unique to weapons, which are mostly special attacks, and a few universal ones including an i-frame dodge that sharpens your weapon. These are completely optional and can be ignored. The biggest pro for Gen IMO is you can play as the cats. If you get a decent build set up they can get decent kill times tho not quite as good as the main weapons, and they also get extra lives.

Honestly just go for it, maybe even try emulating it first. If World is your first game you may find it a bit janky at first, but I promise you the core monster hunter game play is still there.

Yeah, loved Clutches moves for shit like Hammer, but wallbangs and softening was hit trash
The fact that they DIDN'T show it gives me hope, and if they bug trip or whatever is a hard timer that requires buildup, I'll live with it

This. It gets old real fast.

>No World on Switch, Switch will hold it back!!!
>We also want the Switch exclusive MH!!

Anything before GU/4U is basically unplayable for me now. Rise is only gonna widen the gap with that wirebug hotness.

I always loved Turf Wars. If they rework them so they can be intentionally triggered without ruining the overall flow of the hunt then I'm all for it. The feeling of fighting a monster which is also fighting a different monster which might also attack you just because is really cool.

I think it looks a lot better than the Clutch Claw since it's all mobility rather than being a half-mount that lets you tenderize or wallbang for extra damage if you just keep doing it every other minute. Using the Claw only ever felt natural with Hammer since it transitioned into the Claw so easily and you were pretty much always focusing on the Head anyway.

I actually just realized it's similar to Nero's Wire Snatch from DMC5, which is funny since I scoffed at people saying that MonHun was going full DMC with the Wirebug. I guess it kind of is. I'd love a Nero armor set and Red Queen GS.

Wow, look, it's four great games!

-sed

>6 months until rise releases
source?

Clutch claw had a downside?

The fact that you had to abuse it to actually kill monsters.

tenderizing

This game already doesn’t look as Wyvern heavy as world and that’s fantastic.
I’m pretty sure the only large monster that wasn’t some sort of wyvern in world was Rajang.

wallslam and tenderizing where too intrusive as gimmicks go

the fucking trailer has the release date you retarded mong

>In the reveal they show off my favorite of the new monsters and my favorite monster that didn't show up in World have a Turf War
>It's a straight-up Sumo match
Based. I bet Tetranodon will have great early-game armor for Blunt weapon users so I'll end up wearing that too.

Attached: 1600387982825.png (690x636, 206.89K)

It really doesn’t.

let me guess
you are a barafag

Sumo kappa platypus is very based

4U shits on generations

Sounds good, it is just 16 bucks rn but as far as I've read it takes a while before it really starts so I was afraid about investing it time more than anything.

>implying it wont be delayed

I dont mind that Rise has it because its just a fun spin off and not a mainline game. But I hated the hook/wounding gimmick in World and dont want that shit to return. The problem is that firstly wounding mechanics were just annoying and piss easy to do, basically forcing you to do it every few minutes. And secondly the AI cant handle aerial moves at all and they're cheap, easy to land, and give you too much mobility.

Leave climbing monsters to DD, it does it far better.

Just don't use it?
I agree that the claw-specific stagger was inevitable and a mistake though.

>4u bad
I started on 4u so I never understood it, why do people consider it bad?

Him and Tetsu will have a very based turf war for sure

>3 bad games vs 1 perfect one
Hard choice

>its just a fun spin off and not a mainline game
Source?

>being this retarded
Poorfags always amaze me when they talk about a game they are too poor to handle.

Is there anything worse than getting manhandled by a guy 2 heads taller than you?

Nah the opening section isn’t as long as most people say, you have the typical shitty gathering quests before Great Maccao but after that the game speeds up a lot.
Make sure to have some sort of guide app or website though because nothing tells you weapon trees, required quests, monster drop rates or anything Ingame.

People don't consider it bad, that user does
Many people consider 5U the peak of handheld MonHun, and one of the series' highest points overall

its not but people don't like muh verticality/mounts and thinks that because CB was OP that the entire game is ruined

From the trailer I was skeptical but after the direct that explained it further I am sold on it, although I hope your supply of wire bugs will be lowish. Maybe 30 a hunt.

monsterhunter.fandom.com/wiki/MHGU:_Village_Key_Quests
monsterhunter.fandom.com/wiki/MHGU:_Hunters_Hub_Key_Quests
You only need to do the key quests to proceed, but if you don't know what they are, it's possible to spend a bunch of hours gathering or hunting 10x small monsters. You can see in the village key quests that there aren't near as many as some people would have you believe.

This game will copy everything from world and switchfags will find every reason to say its better somehow

What? All I said was that World was mostly wyverns and I’m glad that Rise doesn’t seem to be mostly wyverns.
The hell does what you said have to do with anything?

Thissun

The fact its not called MHW2

>Many people consider 5U the peak of handheld MonHun, and one of the series' highest points overall

>525210670
>not even a new ip
apply yourself

It looks cool, from what we saw it's only for mobility + combo purposes as opposed for tenderizing like the Claw in IB, tenderizing fucked a bit with the pace of the hunt and i didn't like that very much.

i love the nero-palico friendship so much

The trailer/direct did show the hunters picking up bugs of some kind do maybe you can replenish them during a hunt? It would be a good way to limit their use.

SNOY tears are delicious

Same as it always was then.
Half of the features from Frontier creeped into mainline and despite years of shitting on it they were suddenly 'fun' and 'based' when 4th and 5th gen disfigured the game.

>if you ignore this bad thing it doesn't exist
are you fucking retarded

>Half of the features from Frontier creeped into mainline and despite years of shitting on it they were suddenly 'fun' and 'based'
You going to list any or just say this objectively wrong statement?

The worst part about Rise is that it looks genuinely fucking good and I hate that it's exclusive

It'll have the same QoL changes and open maps but not all the same mechanics. Clutch Claw is gone for Wirebug, fast travel might go away due to Palamutes, and there's a possibility that Scoutflies & Mantles could be gone.

The new weps are too OP and the map design is sewage. Apex 140 monsters are too OP but that's just a git gud thing and too many rehashes but that's just a monhun thibg

>turf wars still a thing
>fucking SLOPES and sliding still in
It's shit

>The worst part about Rise is that it looks genuinely fucking good and I hate that it's exclusive

>"Dancers in the Coral Highlands" plays

SNOY fags were in complete denial that Nintendo was getting exclusivity again. The B team from Capcom is objectively better than the World team as well. The Switch money and sales are too good for Capcom to pass up. Sony is under hot water with their chinese government connections as well.

The story the cards told was really nice. I was hoping for something like it in the next set, but they completely blew me away by having it be an Okami/Sengoku Basara crossover set. They dropped two new IPs into the game out of nowhere.
