Great exploration, beautiful visuals and music, good combat and bosses

I liked playing it, but I was annoyed with how the story presented it self. It's doing the environmental storytelling thing but doesn't give you a base to build your understanding from, Dark Souls had the opening video listing the people who got great souls for example, but in Hyper Light I know my man has a cough and that's all I really was able to actually discern. I know outside of the game the director was dealing with a heart disease(?) so I get the cough in that sense, just not an in universe sense, as well as not getting anything else from the story at all.
Plays really great though, it's fun.

Thos god-warriors looked cool in the intro and it was disappointing just seeing them as corpses in the background.

Unendurably dull. Made me question visual style as a game hook.
