>$500
Get the SeriesX, best value for that price range.

Xbox X via the monthly payments so that you have more money for games and extras at launch

If you are about exclusives, PS5. otherwise go with Xbox.

Xbox is the best deal for 500

What kind of games are you interested in?

IF you already have a PC and a 600w or better PSU upgrade GPU, otherwise xbox

>PC
>$500
Just get a console at that point, PC is only worth it if you spend 4x that.

PC
>/threading your own post
What a fucking faggot.

What games are you excited for user?

>I want exclusives and i liked the ones from PS4!
Get the PS5
>I want multiplats, 4k, and enjoy gamepass!
Get the xbox
>I have $1000 to spend
PC is for you then

This is basically it, ignore consolewar fags and tendies

Get xbone on layaway and save 20 bux in the long run

Tempting; what exclusives does it have? May just get the Series S if Cyberpunk 2077 is only 70GB.

>PC is only worth it if you spend 4x that.
Can't you get a decent machine for that price?

/board

Get the series S and game pass.
Getting the series X with no games is a disaster, the main appeal of xbox nowadays is game pass and how much shit you get for the monthly fee.
Sony has PS now and that ps+ collection, which is alright I guess, but those are separate costs. We don't know how ps now/downloading will work on ps5 besides that it has it. bc for that matter, as well.
You could probably get a good gpu for $300, and a suitable cpu for $200, but you'd still need a good few other pieces, not as some "hurr everything's expensive" but if you don't want to end up playing games at low 720p just to hit 60fps, you want to think forward, not back, and buy things that will do what you want for a while yet.

If you skipped this entire xbox generation get a series X and a game pass and coast on its games for a year or 2.

Xbox for real 4K/60fps

>NOOOOOOOOOOOO WHAT ABOUT THE SWITCHERINO

Does Demon’s Souls, Miles Morales, and Rift Apart look good to you? Go PS5. You want the most bang for your buck? Go Series X? You like having emulation ad the best backwards-compatibility of any platform and free online? Go PC.

>Tempting; what exclusives does it have?
Fable
Halo
Gears
Avowed (next Obsidian rpg)
Everwild
The Medium
To name a few.

The series S is good if you don't have a 4K set up, and the performance won't be different from the series X since it's targeting 50% of the resolution output.

PC then pirate any game you like.

I'd wait for ps5 slim either way, the fucking huge dubai skyscraper design doesn't look good and by the time the slim is out you can most likely grab quite a few games for cheap.

I don't get it.

I honestly might get a Series X to cover new releases until PC part prices are unborked enough to make a 1440p Ray-Tracing build for under $800 is possible. I still have my current broke nigga rig for accessing my Steam library and doing music pro.

>Demon’s Souls
Never interested me.
>Miles Morales
Meh.
>Rift Apart
Nah, it looks like every R&C game ever released. Looking more towards Crash 4.

>You like having emulation ad the best backwards-compatibility of any platform and free online
I was looking forward to Switch/GC/PS2 emulation a bit... does the PC even have any games?

>Fable, Gears, Avowed, Everwild, Medium, Gaylo Shitfinite
None of them look good or interesting.

The average rating of all those PC exclusives combined would likely be about 5/10 if not less

switch

>tfw thinking about getting a Xbox series s and waiting til they announce a ps5 pro

How dumb is this idea if I don't care about 4k

Can't go wrong with the Series X desu, most power and value a console can get you.
And at 4K the only thing that can outperform it on PC right now is a 3080. Since it's a modified GPU similar to a 2080 super-ti level.

PS5.

>the PC even have any games?
Not exactly cinematic experiences like Sony, but they have their share of exclusives:
>Deus Ex
>KOTOR 2
>Half-Life in general
>The entire RTS genre
>Left 4 Dead 1/2
>Boneworks
>Hell Let Loose
>Persona 4 Golden (currently)
>Squad
>ARMA

If you ONLY have $500 get a Series S with Game Pass.

>persona 4 golden
>exclusive to pc
is...
is that a joke?

>half life
it's on consoles

>And at 4K the only thing that can outperform it on PC right now is a 3080.
Eh, a 2080 probably could. But on the other hand, a 2080 and 1TB SSD alone doesn’t leave much room for the rest of the build.

we don't know just how much the adjustments to the hardware of the series S make a difference in performance. I'd say wait a month after release of the systems, there'll be fucktons of comparisons on all the games, crossgen and not, and that'll be the best way to decide if it's worth it. I know MS is SAYING there'll be no difference but resolution, but I don't trust company marketing on principle.

Nope, get dunked on Vitalet!

I got it user, It's funny.

This, PC exclusives suck and don't reliably run anyway

half of the games you listed are on consoles

At least on modern platforms. Sorry, I should have clarified.

Right, sorry. But not Alyx, at least.

>20 year old games

Topkek I might as well get a 360.

Attached: 14664125[1].jpg (1080x1082, 564.2K)

PC so you can play anything on it and can e play games emulated.

>I want to be a girl (male)
There you go :^)

ok name a new good game

lol you cant build a pc for $500

A $500 PC would suck ass.

>step first buy Series S
>step two mail the rest of money to me
>step three an hero and profit

why?

>no Warhammer 2
It's literally the best game on PC.

It's not such a bad idea, the developers who complain are fucking lazy and get angry if they have to do a few extra hours of work.

I skipped the current gen. Sekiro and Tsushima look good, Tsushima even more so since it's getting that multiplayer DLC. Other than that, Cyberpunk looks good, and I wanted to try Jedi Order.

But the Series S with gamepass sounds great tbqh.
