i liked the game, not the same level as TTYD, but i enjoyed my time from beginning to end, also I really liked Olivia, the fact one the most endearing female characters to be released this year on videogames was A FUCKING ORIGAMI GIRL is fucking sad, but hey, it's still current year

You can get through the entire game without fighting non-scripted enemies, yeah. The enemies bog down the already rather slow pace of the game to a crawl. They only drop coins and confetti, both of which can be found in the environment extremely easily. The only meme this board continues to spout is pretending Origami King was good.

Depends on what you mean. There are obviously mandatory story battles. But field encounters give you confetti you just get from the environment anyways, and coins, which you also get from the environment anyways.

You need battles to get coins because shit is super expensive.
You’ll find yourself stuck on Confetti which battles will help with.

Finding roads and main missions gets you Hearts that increases your attack power letting you do the whole “defeat enemies outside of battle if hit”

It’s literally the same shit with a different purpose.
I never understood people pretending it’s bad unless they are massive brainlets.

Dream Team gets shit on because the there’s some invasive tutorials and the pacing is a bit off at times but on the whole it’s one of the best Mario RPGs

The set pieces are filled with soul, the battle system works when your not a fucking brainlet, level designs are fantastic, best OST in the series, it deserves to be in Great

The game does a lot of things that make the Originals look dated by comparison.
People are only stuck up on it because of MUH OC and thinking we need exp in a system that makes buying things super expensive.

Fuck I love these games.

There’s no side content, nothing to do in the towns, nothing to come back to later. Collecting toads is really tedious very quickly in. Writing is pretty heavy handed, the way they handled side characters, they might as well not even exist. Combat is exhaustively boring and repetitive. Other than all that, it’s pretty good
