Breddy good but it drags on a bit too long.

peak soul

Brilliant.

It's on GamePass.

Incredibly frustrating but still good game.

I love the ambiance but im too scared to play it
I quit when the alien went down the vent for the first time

I liked the 70's sci-fi aesthetic it used.

The Alien scenes were really effective in the early parts, too

Amazing game, play it in several long settings with aday inbetween so the pacing issues are less of a problem.

It scared me so much I could not finish it

I got too spooked and dropped it. Even the aggressive Joe’s are spooky as hell.

Excellent game. Fuck the robots tho.

I feel like the game is perceived to be difficult because it encourages you to play it wrong, as a joke.

Never hide in a locker. Never hide under a table. Never sneak (don't run either). When the alien shows up, move with him, for instance if he walks around the table, simply circle it in the opposite direction so he's always across from you, and feel free to follow him at a slight distance down any straight hallway.

It's odd game design but must have been effective, that the game actively punishes you for being too slow and too cautious.

It's pretty great. Beat it recently and started on the DLC. I died so many times the alien kind of lost its bite though, but that's more on me I think.

The effective way to play is also the scariest. It's like the real ending of Alien, people like Lambert can shut down and freeze when confronted with danger, while Ripley has the guts to move around the ship and be active, rather than passive.

One of the best PC gaming experiences out there when combined with the mods that make the alien more unpredictable and realistic, so it isnt on a leash with you all the time. Never gets less scary that way im on my fifth playthrough now and it's a whole new game running that mod.
When the worst part of a game like this is that there's too much of it, you know you've got a good one.

The beginning of the game goes on for too long.

Played it 4 times. It's great.

I agree with posts. Old 80’s/70’s aesthetic is dope. Old school future is dope. Too many repeating graffiti makes it awkward. Graffiti should be designed for the area. Alien is dope but filters n00bs

>NOOOOOOOO YOU CANT JUST SHOOT THE ALIEN A HUNDRED TIMES IN THE FACE, LIGHT IT ON FIRE AND FIRE 8 INCH STEEL BOLTS THROUGH ITS SKULL. YOURE SUPPOSED TO HIIIIIIIIIIIIDDDDDEEEEEEEE!!!!!!

Yep. As green text it is... it’s the point. It’s Mr. X on the hardest of hard cores.

goty 2014...ffffffuuuuuuuuuuuckkkkk

>The Alien is Mr. X

Then what’s up with the other alien games and movies where it only takes a couple shots to kill aliens?

What if in every other RE game and movie the protagonists would mow down hordes of Mr. X’s all the time? Wouldn’t it diminish the reasoning behind making him invincible?

The Alien was invincible in two of the three Alien movies and only harmed in the other one by Marines with explosive-tipped armor piercing machine guns

And CM is official canon and you mow them down like L4D Zombies.

I love it. It's a must if you like stealth. You can play like a huge coward or go balls out and continue to progress even with the alien around. I did both.

I got lucky and they were distracted immediately by something off in a corner somewhere and got away scott free

Alien didn't scare me and xenomorph doesn't really creep me out, will this game scare me?

Not in the slightest. I don't see how anyone could find this game scary unless you're somehow completely unfamiliar with the franchise.

fucking love it

Just finished last night. Played on hard mode my first time and it was really intense I was running on like 50 flamethrower fuel for the last couple chapters I genuinely felt like I was in a movie hanging on by a thread. I knew a little about the alien AI learning your tactics but it was a real oh shit moment when I went to flame it and it waited to rush me down while I had the flame thrower out. I had to really adjust my tactics for the end game, especially that fucking hallway segment in ch 17 you have to go through like 4 times
Overall super impressed with the game. My only main gripe is that the chunk of the game where the androids are the main threat dragged on a little too long. Really cool surprise to see there was more than one alien. It was kind of obvious but the presentation of going into the alien’s den in the reactor and seeing all the blips on the motion tracker was great. Also the ending was a little anti climatic. And one minor gripe that I only care about because I’m going to try to platinum it but the fact that using the stun baton on a human counts as kill is really stupid and ruined what I thought was a pacifist run.

When I played all the humans ended up attracting the alien somehow and dying while fighting it.

Yes. I'm the same as you and it scares me

It might not scare you but it’s still worth a play just for how high stakes it feels. You’re basically playing hide and seek while trying to complete objectives and it’s really thrilling even if you’re not scared

masterpiece
one of the great horror games of all time

worse than colonial marines

Oh I learned pretty fast I could bait them to shoot at me and then hide while the alien cleared them out for me and that doesn’t count as you killing them. There were literally two instances where the alien wasn’t around but a pesky human was so I stunned them using the baton thinking it was a non-lethal weapon like it is in every other game ever made

The protagonist of Isolation simply doesn’t have access to the firepower needed to kill a single Xenomorph, let alone hordes of them.
