Thoughts so far?

CONS
>not as good as MW2019
>doesn't look or run as good as MW2019
>generic list of guns
>cringy intro sequence
>mediocre VO
>terrible score tracking (why can't we see number of kills for other players in some game modes?)
>no drop shotting
>no tactical sprint
>game turns on motion blur every new match
>dualshock sucks ass for playing FPS
PROS
>gameplay feels like Black Ops 2
>guns are somewhat fun to use
>OP killstreaks are back (artillery strike and napalm strike)
>sound design is good

Overall not as good as MW2019, but still fun. 7/10.

release date: 13th november.

how could you know any of this?

You can play the beta right now on PS4

I don't like these low ttk games, it feels like if you're just unlucky you're fucked and once the ball rolls thanks to score/killstreaks you're behind forever.

fuck serious, why cant pc do this?

Activision and Sony have a special relationship

sony has marketing exclusivity, that usually entails things like DLC x days early (for previous cods, like when MS had the deal, 30 days).
PC has always been a less popular device for cod, it only really got popular with warzone. Just how shit rolls really, crossplay helps significantly though.

Key to get good is to run from cover to cover while taking advantage of choke points and makeshift camping spots. I’m surprised how good I am at this game taking into account that I sucked ultra mega ass when MW2019’s alpha came out.

Because Activision is a fucking ultra mega gay and decided to partner up with Sony. It sucks because I’m sure it runs at 1080p with variable resolution and it looks like shit on my 4K monitor. It would look so much better on the Xbone X.

damn it, guess im just stuck waiting like a pleb then

Much better than the unplayable trash that is mw, still not buying call of duty.

I try to do that, to play more knowledgably, by looking at the maps and trying to figure out good spots, but it doesn't seem to matter. The instant someone pops on my screen, I'm dead in what feels like 2 shots, meanwhile I can get maybe half their health down.

No this time. Killstreaks take forever to get. You're lucky to get a chopper once per game.

I like the feel of it more than MW, but I mostly want zombies

I honestly think its the best cod since ghosts or bo2 and probably will be even better on the ps5. It has the benefit of having mw2019s engine but its a treyarch game so people are actually moving around somewhat. Most of the guns are good but it needs some patches. The maps aren’t anything crazy but a big step up from last year.

They’ve been using their own engine, not the MW2019 engine. It feels similar but they started using a different version of the IW engine since cod4/world at war.

It’s dog shit and I’ve played every single call of duty since the very first one

Is it true that the black ops cold war alpha is 25 GB?
Are there still hope for the full game being under 100 GB in size?
Will blizzard finally update their launcher and let us download modes separately?

Attached: download-size.jpg (640x480, 62K)

it's about 25gb installed, the download was like 15gb.
Going by the menu of the game, actiblizz is going to force a warzone install alongside the main game so expect 150gb+ baseline.

>performance is all over the place
>maps are all better than any in MW not to say they're great but decent
>gunplay is fun
>muddy graphics
>SBMM seems to be somewhat there but doesn't feel like MW's
>your loudass footsteps even when having ninja on needs to go

Pretty sure the mw alpha was the same size, wouldn't get your hopes up. I'd expect 100gb at launch still.

SBMM is absolutely there. This was the first day and the entire beta is going to be a shitshow because new people will be coming in the entire time, so it won't be as obvious as 2019.

Already paid $45~ for mw19 after paying $60 for mw2 2009. Not buying any more cod for at least 10 years

What a step back in terms of animations and gameplay and sound. The only good is the maps so far. The guns sound and feel and look pretty shit, and the customization is terrible. They could have at least brought back the pick-10 system.

Can't wait for the 10 GB call of duty low poly next year.

I'd be down for that. Something like that squenix published ww2 shooter, but with cod gameplay, i'd buy it.

This, except the consooming. I got mw because it was a solid reboot and i'm just sticking with it until the next worthwhile modern fps comes out, whether it's from dice or whoever.

yeah its there but how strict is it is the thing
MW's was really strict

I misread your post, thought you said you spent ~45 in the shop ontop of paying full price for the game.

Basically bought mw2 in 2009 for ps3 and then mw2019 on pc. Two cod out of 16 main games

the game is BARELY 12 hours old. There's not enough data for MMR/elo to have been established. There probably won't be anything close to decent mmr by the end of the beta, even. I don't think you can judge the sbmm on a 3 day beta.

Dropshotting and tactical sprint are grade A cancer.

I'd unironically play fortnite cod.

>not as good as MW2019
Was MW's regular multiplayer good? I tried Warzone several months ago and didn't care for it.

MW for the most part has great gunplay if you ignore half the useless guns. The guns feel great and the animations are amazing. The biggest downside is that most of the maps are mediocre at best. Warzone is really good but has a steep initial learning curve.

This is an Alpha so hopefully they will fix things up by release.
Personally I’m looking forward to the plot since we were robbed of one with Black Ops 4.
