>why do companies who's only goal in life is to make money, do the things that are shown to make money as safely as possible?

Some mysteries, like where OP's brain is, will never be solved.

What is this image trying to convey.

sony only has third person adventure movie games

console games are basic as fuck

Risk aversion by publishers. If they're gonna invest in several millions in development they want guarantees.

Because people know what to expect and like the formula, so they just buy it. Fromsoft does the same thing and no one seems to mind.

>whataboutism
Also I wasn't saying Fromsoft gets a pass

I sometimes thinking to make same bait but with PC games
>old FPS/arena shooters
>RTS
>quests/adventure
>dungeon crawlers
>cRPGs
should I?

They're hollywood rejects.

How is it bait? Playstation exclusives are pretty much just 3rd person action games with "cinematic" parts and minimal UI.

But those are 5 very different genres.
How is that the same as sony exclusives all being the same third person over the shoulder cinematic experiences?

>But those are 5 very different genres.
Same for games from bait pic.
GoD doesn't play like TLoU.
I can make similar pic with PC exclusives

>GoD doesn't play like TLoU.
Yet despite that, they look so visually similar.
Same camera angel, same artistic direction, etc.
Also
>not knowing how to reply

All from the same publisher?

Because the formula sells to the mass market.
It's cheap and reliable and the dev skills needed to make it become commoditised.

because they sell

how fucking dumb are you

>they look so visually similar
Like Deus Ex, VtmB, Arx Fatalis, HL, SS2, Stalker, Thief etc
Damn this pic have some good potential. I really should make one

Because publicly traded companies have to consistently make more and more money, so they are likely to be risk adverse and regurgitate the same thing over and over again since they know it will work and are afraid to try making anything decent.

Also I remember thousands first person dungeon crawlers from 90s. God this is going to be so strong bait.

Are those games from the same publisher though? No? I thought so.

Do it then. But everyone's already told you that it's a stupid idea that doesn't work so don't cry when we call you a fucking retard for posting it.

Again, they're not from the same publisher. All the games in OP's pic are released by Sony

>console games are basic as fuck
Funny when third person adventure action movie games are one of the most recent genres in gaming

>publisher
You can't use publisher excuse against console. Since they're not PC.

Not a smart idea to try without the resources necessary to make it work.
Sure you can latch onto the proper ideas, but your polish and presentation will be noticably lacking compared to all the other game's that are exactly the same.

Haha knowyourmeme has best memes XD

simple post and tards already triggered, thus proving your point. Not even worth arguing anymore. Just let the thread die.

You don't deserve a better one.

Better way is just search most popular genre/year. There is always some genre that more popular than others in specific timeframe. The mainstream
