This game is good because I grew up with it

No one says that. We all agree that sunshine was shit

>this game cannot be good because i didn't grow up with it

>I couldn't finish the Sand Bird level so it's shit

this but unironically, suck my dick fag the game is great
"we all agree"
underaged redditfugees say that you dumb faggot, even they are the majority these days it's not the actual opinion of this board.

Rose tinted glasses are a bitch. The controls are still stiff coming off Mario 64. Galaxy is objectively the better of the games in the collection and it's a clear fixed point when Mario games stopped having shitty controls.

Galaxy is overrated shit, zoomer.

Poor mans Splatoon 2

I was born in 82. It's still the better of the three.

It has its moments, but it is objectively worse than 64 and Galaxy in design philosophy.

oh definitely, it isn't fucking dogshit though

>rating games based on others opinions
yup, you were definitely born after 2000

No, Sunshine is still my favorite 3d mario

Since I'm sure you're not pulling that out of your ass without having a clue what you mean by it; what, pray tell, are the design philosophies behind these games.

congrats on nailing OP

>64
>here is this poorly stitched together world that makes no sense at all
>Galaxy
>here is this on rails bullshit of small platforms tied together with waggle bullshit you have to keep repeating
>Sunshine
>here is this open platforming area filled with tons of secrets that makes sense within this fully realized island setting

Sunshine's controls are way fucking tighter than 64. Like you could write a fucking essay on all the dumb movement shit in 64. Like not being able to buffer inputs so getting 1f walljumps or rollouts is fucking annoying.

Sunshine still feels awkward and stiff it literally has a button to side step.

These two posts summarize soul vs soulless.

>t literally has a button to side step.
So? 64 has breakdance and punch combo which is arguably even less useful than sidestepping.

low iq post

Literally shitty controls on both. Galaxy marks the moment Mario started feeling as solid as platformers like Jak and Daxter and Ratchet and Clank

Too bad Galaxy barely presents any real platforming challenge or else Galaxy might actually be relevant.

I didn't play it until after 30 and I think it's a good game. Not really a huge Nintendo guy though so maybe my standards are low

SMS is a good game though so I don't get the comparison

You clearly never played it past the first Galaxy.

high iq post

that level was annoying but nothing was worst than Plinko and the dirty water lilypad slide

Mechanically it’s a fantastic platformer that suffers for average to subpar level design. Those levels are beautifully themed, mind you, but fail in a lot of ways to provide mechanically satisfying platforming. The secret levels are the game’s crutch in a lot of ways, and it’s no coincidence that many like those sections the most.

As an overall experience, I think Nintendo did a great job of not just repeating 64, and as we’ve seen with Galaxy and Odyssey, the 3D Mario games live and die off of the new mechanics clicking with the players. So in that respect, Sunshine is the best at being the most unique; there is more they could have done with the groundwork though.

That's a little too reasonable for me to comprehend. Can you rephrase that as two sentence shitpost, please?

Guess what? No one will, thanks to Big Tendo literally leaving Galaxy 2 out of the timeline. There are still a large number of OG Wii players who didn't play 2 and this new Switch audience certainly won't go out of their way to try it.

Correct, stay filtered, pleb

>grew up with it
>found it occasionally fun but mostly frustrating
>still own it
>don't play it
>no interest in ever selling it
Stay mad, collectorfags

You realize the world's are called galaxies right? I was pointing out this guy never played beyond the first area of the game. Nice to know you're a baby that throws a tantrum because they left out the shittier of the two Galaxy games. Yoshi was garbage. The cloud power up was shit too.

>PAL
>Player's Choice
Keep it

I unironically think Sunshine is the best 3D mario game, and I'm a 35 year old who has played every single Mario Game released since I was 5.

>beautiful location
>tight controls
>fluid movement
>the fludd backpack was awesome

It was the first Mario game i got 100% on. I honestly don't gwt the hate for this game.

Sunshine is less of a disaster than Odyssey and Galaxy because is doesn’t control like total shit. Too bad the maps are flat and 99% water.

MA-MA F***ER

You can sidestep in super mario 64 too if you go near walls, which is literally the only time you'd need to sidestep

My bad, I misunderstood your statement. Apologies.

I don't understand what people dislike about sunshine. Is it because you're comparing it to 64 and galaxy instead of judging it as it's own game? The controls aren't as tight, but the game itself is so cool and interesting. Galaxy bored me.

After playing this and 64, i realized I only really like galaxy, and that’s because I grew up with it. Nostalgia factor is so strong.

mid iq post

Have you played 3D World yet? It's similar to Galaxy in many ways.

Galaxy 2 > Galaxy > Sunshine = Mario 64 > 3D World

Sunshine has a cool location and setting and shit but I prefer Mario 64's level design
