I agree with the legendary point, but I'd like to add that since they kept making the legendaries more and more powerful (representing a profound concept like death or God) they had to have them tie into the story, which we all know gamefreak can't write a good plotline to save their lives.

Gen 6

That would be gen 2. Gen 3 made them the central focus but they weren't any more powerful than the bird trip until gen 6.

I disagree. Lugia and Ho-Oh were never massively powerful beings who could end a massive amount of lives like Groudon and Kyogre. They were just birds that no one was even sure if they still existed or not. Same with the Beasts.

Gen 5 had many great improvements, the battles went much smoother with faster turns and animations. That did not stop it from selling poorly because it was too different for the normies and genwunners.

Gen 6 went all in fusing the kid's anime and games together, they are barely distinguishable from each other nowadays. It ran terribly on the 3DS, battles are a fucking slog to go through, everything takes too much time, and features that should've been standard are abandoned at every new installment.

And it sells like hot cakes. Fuck this gay world.

I hate how they kept adding an insane amount of legendaries with each generation. They went overboard.

Pokemon was always garbage, the only people into it are kids and retards.

The Regi Trio was legit the most kino Legendary Pokémon concept they ever did. Rather than having it part of the lore of the main game, you have to actually explore the game in order to even access the cave to unlock them, giving them their own lore.

Regigigas in concept is also good but kinda lets it down with how gimped he is as a Pokémon
And then Gen 8 gave us two Regi's nobody even asked for or wanted with some slapped on shitty lore that 'oh yeah Regigigas made them while he was drunk...'

At first I didn't notice the tiny arms and assumed the legs are just front legs and it's just standing in a way that hides it's deer ass and hind legs. Like that, it looked pretty cool.
The real deisgn is fucking awful tho.

Gen 3 was the first "oh shit, things are never going to be the same again are they" moment. But even so, it had it's own appeal.
Gen 5 fucked a lot of people up by being a story-led soft reboot, but I thought it was an interesting take, and an interesting indicator of things to come afterwards. Not so.
Gen 6 blindsided me by being "3D" for the first time. My friends and I were so excited we all got copies on release day. Never even finished it. The number of bad new Pokemon designs are grossly outweighing the new ones from this point onwards. You can't play the game without wanting to throw your system through the wall because of how annoying the characters are in it. If you enjoy Pokemon from this point onwards you're part of the problem.

This. People shit talk Gen 5 being the breaking point for its few questionable Pokémon designs which honestly I kinda like alot more with age while ignoring its improvements to story and mechanics and just feeling much faster and smoother than Gen 4.
And then Gen 6 happens. Throwing many of the good mechanics out the fucking window, becoming so fucking boring and handholdy, its beyond shit.
