He IS the most monstrous because he is a sociopath at heart and fully embraces the horror of what he is doing. Micah is villainous because it’s all he knows, when he was a boy, he commuted a 2 brutal murders with his father.

He's a shit-stirrer. When the gang repeatedly runs into trouble because of their hubris, he's the one who promotes it and takes pleasure in it.

He's downright evil. Screws over every gang he's a part of, caused a lot of trouble in Backwater and manipulates people. He threatened to murder Sadie as well. That said all the Red Dead characters are flawed, but Micah is the worst.

He only got more bold after Hosea died, and it was revealed Arthur was sick. Before that he crawled around like a fucking rat.

He was outnumbered, but being the strategic genius that Micah is, he waited for the right opportunity.

He shot up a whole town and didn’t leave immediately because he wanted to get his guns back. You can call Micah a lot of things, but a coward? Nah

When you come back and check the camp he had outside of Strawberry you can find a torn scrap of a wanted poster for Dutch. He was always after Dutch from the very beginning. Then he realized he couldn't get to Dutch through the gang so he joined and undermined them from the inside. There is the obvious stuff and then the subtle stuff like him being the one who suggests to camp in the creek. Open and exposed to high ground on both sides, a kill zone. Then the ending where Arthur dies convincing Dutch not to trust Micah as Micah begs and pleads for Dutch to come and follow him and Dutch walks away. Micah is too wounded from the fight with Arthur to force or capture Dutch at that point.
