There's a possibility it might happen now, sony is consulting dave jaffe for production on the show. I know it's not much but it's something.

I feel like a few games like twisted metal and a few others would have lasted longer if it weren't for the PS3s shitty online.

Car combat died out after the mid 2000's cause of open world titles and the fps genre becoming popular.

Rocket league exists.

Rocket league is not car combat.

Mad Max game prove that can be fun

It's literally a sports game

only school shooters play this edgy cringe shit

>priests? AAAAAAAAAAAA I'M GOING INSANE! SAVE ME CALYPSO MAN!

They should have gone for the first games black yet light humour rather than Black unironical edge.

Black wasn't even that edgy, it was pretty much doing what most horror movies did at the time and it worked pretty well.

Mad max was nothing like TM though, it was just another generic sandbox game with a post apocalyptic skin slapped on it.

I'm talking about car combat, and the convoy fights were pretty much the peak of that game.

Twisted Metal is getting a TV show?

But...what happened to my movie pitch?

>in Black doll face is an abused girl that gets revenge on her boss then vows to become a twisted vigilante for those who can't defend themselves
>oh cool this would be a cool dynamic in the new game and give a good reason why her gang would be fighting dollarstore pennywise's gang
>she's just some vain model with some cult of equally vain gangsters lmao
epic of the highest caliber

This game was hilariously unbalanced

Sony is doing it for their network, dave said sony has been talking to him about getting some of his input for the show. Make of that what you will.

I want a Ferris Bueller DLC set in Ireland

anyone here do the campaign gold medals without being a bitch and using the infinite ammo glitch?
I rushed through the game before the servers were shutdown, and that fucking floating robot slut took me HOURS to gold on twisted difficulty.

What ruined it was talon, literally impossible to take one down.

This game was just barely fucking beatable on normal difficulty, try beating it on hard or twisted and you get fucked by some glitch or some asshole killing your driver.

Fuck this nigger game

TM2012 pretty much flanderized everyone.

Talon wasn't impossible to down but they really should have introduced some explicitly anti-air weapons to counter it. You kind of just had to find a slop and hope you could hit it with a freeze attack.

git gud.

>Expecting the original Dollface to return.
user one of the biggest staples of the Twisted Metal franchise is the idea that new drivers are taking over legacy vehicles. Kind of has to be that way considering the concept of the tournament.
Also Black takes place in Needle's mind and is a reflection of his world view, TM2012 seems to be a new continuity though it could represent the real world as opposed to the Black and Original continuities. It isn't made clear.
Either way, 2012 Dollface isn't Black Dollface. Just like how Black Dollface isn't the same character as the original Darkside driver.

>mfw I never got to play twisted metal on ps3
>now I'll never get to try that online car combat
it looked so fun

Only good things I remember about this game were the cutscenes and the main theme.

You're not missing out on that much. The game itself was a lot of fun but it always suffered from really shitty servers and Sony basically not giving a single fuck about the game. It's a real shame, the core game is fucking great and the boss fights are easily the best in the series, but it clearly was rushed in some regards and the online experience was not very good.

Shit tier game who cares

Each game is it's own continuity aside from 2 and head on. A lot of people argue that the "colorful world" marcus speaks of in black is the TM2/head on continuity.

I'm still waiting for another devil dice game
last one was on PS2, PS3 came with avatars from the game

>Each game is it's own continuity aside from 2 and head on.
Kind of, but not exactly.
2 explicitly references events in 1, so they're also part of the same canon.
3 also continues off of 2's story, but 3 was retconned by Head-On so we can kind of just pretend it doesn't exist.
Black was supposed to have a sequel but that was axed and what they had finished was bundled with Head-On's PS2 release.
4 and Small Brawl are stand alone, even if Small Brawl has some small nods to the original canon.
2012 is mostly stand alone but it does make some small nods to past games, which means it might fit into the "colorful world" connection between the TM1/2/HO and Black canons.
So with that it's
>1-2-3 Continuity
>1-2-Head-On Continuity
>4 Continuity
>Black (and the epilogue stuff we got in Twisted Metal: Lost if you want to count that) Continuity
>Small Brawl Continuity
>2012 Continuity

i wish we couldget a new twisted metal game, but with unique drivers tied to their cars. none of this modular bullshit to appeal to zoomies with 3 characters

Eh, it was a logical choice given the fact that the game was original pitched as a smaller budged multiplayer only title.

TM:Lost stuff wasn't written by the original team so I wouldn't really count that as part of black. Dave had already left to work on god of war when they started working on the sequel which eventually got cancelled.
