Epic games gives it away for free, so I finally decided to try it out. After playing for about an hour, I want to ask - what the fuck Ubisoft was thinking?
Yeah, the first game was a major disappointment, but at least it tried to explore some interesting themes and despite the fact that Aiden Pearce was a bland protagonist, he was definitely better than some nigger, that comes off even more bland that generic white dude. And the way characters interact, speak and behave - it's like boomers trying to write young people and failing miserably at it.
It's not even fun to kill people on the streets and harass police - NPC behaviour is uninteresting and enemies can take dozen bullets to the face and survive. Shooting is bland, world is not only bland, but also annoying. Who the fuck played it and gave it good reviews?

There is a reason WD:L is being given out for free with all RTX 3000s purchases.
>Epic games gives it away for free, so I finally decided to try it out
>Not writing off Ubishit.
would've made more sense for the main character in watchdogs1 to be black cause it was in chicago
Because the entire game is just poking fun at libtards
Seriously, how do people not get this?
Marcus acts completely normal then drops into "da hood" mode when he meets the one other black on the team who is so happy another black is there.
The entire thing is just shitting all over libtards and people are saying it's "woke"
>it's like boomers trying to write young people and failing miserably at it.
Worse, it's French Canadians trying to write normal functioning humans.
WD1 was a stealth game with hacking as side meal and shooting as backup, WD2 is a hacking game with shooting as side meal and stealth as backup.
>NPC behaviour is uninteresting and enemies can take dozen bullets to the face and survive. Shooting is bland, world is not only bland, but also annoying.
This is every Ubishit game, ever. I completely avoid Ubishit all together; I wouldn't download their shit if it was free. They aren't worth the SSD space.
Ubisoft is not intelligent to do something like that on purpose. The game is just their typical brand of an attempt at being edgy and relevant, only to miss the point entirely and fumble around before falling flat on their tone-deaf ass.
I felt the same way. Ubisoft was the first to go "KANG" with assasin's creed. So I wasn't surprised at the direction they took with this game.
I uninstalled after couple hours of play.
I had a lot of fun making doing full stealth runs with no kills, it really made using the gadgets and blackouts etc.
but I know a lot of people don't wanna do that so.
no way ubi is self aware lmao. how did they manage to make driving boring in this game holy fug
Gameplay improved.
Graphics improved.
Atmosphere is more bright and jokey. I didn't like it but some might.
Character change sucked but they pretty much wrote themselves into wall with Aiden. Thus Marcus. Also to make up for the fact that you could target and kill specific demographic forced ubi to make Marcus black.
Solid 6/10
>least it tried to explore some interesting themes
stopped reading right there. WD2 is much more fun game to PLAY which is all that matters in the end unless you're some kind of snoygger.
>but at least it tried to explore some interesting themes and despite the fact that Aiden Pearce was a bland protagonist, he was definitely better than some nigger
Aiden Pearce was literally worse than the nigger in 2, since said boomer nigger had a personality. Also 2 is heads and shoulders a better game than the shitshow that was the original game, even considering that the story in 2 is garbage. The gameplay and online makes up for what it lacks, whereas the actual content, mission flow and combat are dogshit in both games; 2 is only worse than the first game in that your character is so laughably overpowered from the start that the upgrades feel insulting outside the bombs. You can literally get through everything via drone and RC, where you have to make your own fun to enjoy it. The last statement also applies to the first game so that's on Ubisoft for being shitty devs.
I don't understand you retards who don't like Aiden Pierce.
He's not SUPPOSED to have some grand philosophy or bullshit ideals. He's a few words spoken man who is out for vengeance, THAT'S IT.
And he FUCKING GETS IT at the end of the game. I'd rather have Pierce than like... 90% of other video game protagonists I've seen in recent years. At least he keeps his fucking gob shut unless it's necessary.
>He's not SUPPOSED to be good written guys! Therefor it's GOOD.
Retard alert.
>you could target and kill specific demographic forced ubi to make Marcus black.
What ?
Just because you're too braindead to understand a character's motivations if they aren't shouted in your face doesn't mean that character is badly written.
I am NOT saying that pierce is some masterpiece of characterization. But he is not NEARLY as shitty as you brainlets keep parroting. Way better than that nigger marcus that's for damn sure.
This, retards dont get it.
The best part of Watchdogs is Bad Blood which nobody seems to have played.
you sound more like a racist throwing a tantrum about the protagonist than somebody who has real critic points
Some of the Assassin's Creed games had top-tier characters.
A brainlet and an actual racist, yikes.
>he doesnt like starting gang wars and police fights to beat minor missions for him
I am a domestic terrorist
I just don't feel engaged. Yes, empathizing with characters might be a meme at this point, but I've played San Andreas a dosen of times and still think that Carl is the best written GTA protagonist, just because Rockstar doesn't try to highlight the fact that he loves his family, but acts like a total fucking psycho moments later. You just fill in the blanks by yourself. Later GTA protagonists just try to hard to say that KILLING IS BAD and shit like that.
Here? It's not even funny how hard writers try to make characters likable, but at the same time you can carry out acts of terrorism in gameplay and it's still going to be served under the sauce of "fighting the Bad Big Brother".
Instantly I hate that characters - just because how hard writers want them to be seen as "good guys",
Yep. This is how I do most of the missions. Sneaking around with the shuffler outfit is fun too
It's not that I dislike Aiden. I like the fact that he is like a everyday Batman - just some dude over thirty who has some street knowledge, been in some shit and can handle some heat. Hacker shit is just a cherry on top - he is not a genius hacker, he is just a shmuck who tries to get by and then gets in the wrong situation.
It's simple, yet effective, I think. Also, it goes a little in cyberpunk territory with fixers, who are guns for hire, but at the same time setting stays realistic enough, so you can somewhat suspend your disbelief and imagine that something like this can happen. I liked first game's story because it was somewhat serious and I genuinely liked that realistic cyberpunk feeling it gave off.
WD2 just goes full retarded with its hacker society and meme shit. They tried to make GTA, but the only people who can make GTA are Rockstar. Other developers keep missing the point that it's not about memes in GTA, it's more about the amount of excessive details and references to films, memes are just something that comes out of the experience naturally, you can't force it or it's dead on arrival. Unfortunately, Ubisoft killed the brakes on the train and instead of trying to do at least somewhat serious story just went to land of goofiness where Reddit humor is the king.
I love CJ from San Andreas. He is the best GTA protagonist for me. Your argument is invalid.
I think I just hate the fact that they go out of their way to appeal to some audience that just isn't there. They want to show that "HACKING IS COOL" and "MEMES ARE GREAT, AM I RIGHT FOLKS?", but it comes off so unnatural and forced, that you just feel a little violated. Like when you see someone trying their best to make you like them - just by that you feel disgust.
Aiden was bland, yes, but at least he wasn't good in the sense that everything that he was doing was questionable at best. He wasn't a hero, he was just a guy with some skills that wanted to achieve his own goals.
Writers try all their best to make Dedsec guys in WD2 likeable, but fail miserably. You can't make people love someone, you just can try to write a good, interesting and complex character. But here it's just a collection of meme caricatures of people, not actual characters.
pretty much Kringinity - The Game (Also teh game - which means you just lost and all your base are belong to us xDDD)
tried to play it twice, but it's so fucking bad and can only stand like 20mins sessions but i'm trying my best anyway
