But for the purpose of next-gen the PS5 can do everything it needs to do at 4k60fps.
The RT is good enough for reflections, shadows, and global illumination. Anything beyond that is absolutely retarded to even attempt.

Neither can the PS5. Spiderman is 30fps unless you pick "performance" mode which gimps everything to run it.

I got a One X a few months ago but I haven't really played anything on it other than Halo, Gears 4, and Forza Horizon 4. I played some of Gears 5 but I couldn't get into it. Anything worth playing that I've missed?

I could care less about getting a free upgrade, but the locking it behind the special edition of the new game is fucked. Like MW remastered theyll sell it separately, they just need to trick the FOMO gland of your brain into thinking you have to buy Morales spiderman to get it.

In the end its a bad move since this is becoming a PR disaster. Just sell an upgrade for $10 or something.

Then how is it, that when I'm emulating an old game, I can render it in 4k, it loads pretty much instantly and often I can play it in higher fps (like Drakengard 3 - normally locked at 30fps - can be emulated in even 120fps)?
"Remastering" a PS4 game for PS5 literally only requires allowing higher resolutions and unlocking fps. For real devs that have access to the original source it should be a few hours' work.

There isn't a single PS5 games aside from GT that is 60fps. Some games have will have performance modes where they remove pretty much everything that makes it nextgen to achieve 60.
