What's Zig Forums's opinion on 7 days to die?
Unceasing tedium.
Can't stand the zombie rage mechanic, so now I'm forced to play on the easiest difficulty to turn it off because it isn't a separate option
Best of its class but looks like shit so nobody cares
Fun in a group, easy to cheese. We always play on the highest difficulty since the game is pretty easy.
It's been shit for a long time but it's finally starting to look like an actual game. But it's still got no endgame and only about 5 types of guns.
It's a great example of an early access title with no real direction or long-term plan, the devs have made a shitload of money on it already and don't have much motivation to produce a finished product.
fun game abysmal performance
Has this game really been in early access for seven years?
It would be great if they stopped focusing so much on the tower defense aspect and focused more on exploration and discovery. There's currently no weapons that you can't craft so there's no real motivation to explore past your immediate area.
In my opinion "horde night" is the weakest part of the game. Roaming hordes that you have to redirect, destroy, or avoid would be much better. Why spend all that effort making a massive proc gen world if you're going to force the player to invest so much in one location?
Yes and every update they just focus on changing the perks for the 19th time and adding a gun or car every 5 updates. It's just now gotten lighting that was standard seven years ago.
>addicted
I remember when it still had the Minecraft crafting system as shitty as it was I kinda miss it figuring out how to make new stuff was exciting now after playing al shit ton of betas I already know what is there.
C'mon user you know that's not true, 2 updates ago they overhauled all the buildings in the game and turned them all into mini-dungeons full of secrets and traps. They're making progress, it's just very slow progress.
The funniest part os that you can't avoid the necessity of creating a well fortified base by just digging a hole in the ground
>Zombies don't dig vertically kek
burned biome comfiest biome
Jesus Christ user I lived there for a while because I found a very neatly located Bunker and I hated every second of it
the night visibility is unbeatable and the spooks are comfy
Mute the shit music of this game and play some dark ambient tracks on spotify instead like Council of Nine and Metatron Omega, it's the only way to play
>Alpha since 2013
People love getting scammed.
I had fun so I really don't feel scammed
these kind of games are always in perpetual development
would you rather it be like minecraft and brand a random release 1.0 just so they can say they're not early access
He hasn't played it
>slap 1.0 on a game and it magically becomes better
The early access thing is only bad when games don't have shit to do and crash all the time.
Its sudden popularity caused a significant drop in the quality of the community and it's only going to get worse because shitters encouraged by streamers to meme in games instead of actually playing. In short it's only worth playing solo now. Sont even leave games open to friends because they'll ruin it
It's very flawed, but it's the closest thing to the zombie survival game everyone wants, but was never actually made. It beats me why one of these big companies like Rockstar or Ubisoft won't make a GTA style version of Project Zomboid, that shit would not need a massive budget and would make a ton of money.
>Ubisoft
Pls no anyone but them
MadMole (lead dev) said that he wishes they'd made it a generic zombie lootershooter instead of a voxel game. This leads me to think they have no idea what they're doing. The fact that they've consistently tried to nerf base-building by making exploding zombies and that sort of shit really just confirms it. I can forgive the terrible optimization because it's technically still in alpha after like 5 years, but the designers not understanding that the entire appeal of the game is that it's a game where you can build a fort to fight off zombies is pretty bad.
>the terrible optimization
they're doing marchine cubes in unity of course the optimization is going to be terrible
they probably aren't even running the thing as a shader like you're supposed to
I found it extremely clunky and slow. Mostly boring but I found the zombies scary in that you're never really safe from them i'm also easily spooked
